Windows 10 comes bundled with Microsoft’s OneDrive by default to help you sync your data easily across all your devices. This makes it especially useful and handy. But during the use , anything can happen and you might end up accidentally deleting files/ a specific folder from the OneDrive Local folder on your machine. You might be in distress and under the impression that all your data is lost and can not be recovered.
Well you don’t have to worry, as you might have guessed, i have a cool trick for you that you can use to recover accidentally deleted files and folders from the OneDrive local folder on your Pc. No, i am not going to simply ask you to check your recycle bin and restore , because you would have been smart and already checked your local recycle bin. 🙂
Instead i am going to introduce you to OneDrive’s failsafe feature that prevents any such accidents from happening and can help you recover your deleted data from OneDrive. You might be using file explorer to navigate your way through the contents of your OneDrive.
Luckily if you are on Windows 10 and have file history enabled, you can simply get a modified version of the document recovered from Windows’s log. Or if you are on a lower version of Windows, you can probably use a third party utility to recover your deleted files.
There is one another way to recover a recently deleted file or folder from your local OneDrive folder. You see, once you proceed to delete a file or folder from the local folder of OneDrive, one copy of the file or folder goes to the local recycle bin and another copy to OneDrive’s bin.
This in turn means that even though you have cleared and emptied your local recycle bin, you can still find a cached copy of your recently deleted file or folder from One-drive’s local folder in web OneDrive’s recycle bin.
A copy of your deleted file or folder still remains intact on OneDrive.com.
Follow the procedure i have listed into simple steps below, in order to restore a recently deleted file or folder from the local OneDrive folder.
