MS Teams could not connect to the internet while the internet is working – Fix

Having network issues with the MS Teams on your personal computer? If the network is completely down, you can’t do anything but to switch to a functional one. But, if only the Teams app is not working on the current network while the internet is working, you should not overlook the problem. This guide contains some uniques fixes that you may apply on your device to get better results.

 

Fix 1 – Delete the registry key

You have to remove some registry entries associated directly to the MS Teams app from your system registry.

NOTE – Create a registry backup before proceeding to the main part of the solution. You may follow these steps from here.

Step 1 – Just press the Win+R buttons at once.

Step 2 – Next, write this there, and click “OK“.

Step 3 – Reach this point from here~

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Connections

 

Step 4 – On the right-hand pane, right-click the “SavedLegacySettings” value and tap “Delete” to delete it from your system.

Step 5 – Find the “DefaultConnectionSettings” on the opposite side and delete it from there.

Don’t forget to reboot your computer. Try to connect to Teams again.

 

Fix 2 – Clear the MS Teams cache

You can clear the Microsoft Teams cache files.

Step 1 – Quit the MS Teams app.

Step 2 – Once you are out, tap the small arrow button on the taskbar.

Step 3 – If you see Microsoft Teams app, right-click the Teams app and click “Quit “.

Step 4 – Open the Task Manager using Ctrl+Shift+Esc buttons.

Step 5 – Kill any MS Teams process from there.

Step 6 – Now, open a Run dialog box.

Step 7 – Paste this address and, hit Enter to reach the Teams folder.

Step 8 – Delete everything from the entire Teams folder.

 

 

 

Step 9 – Empty these folders as well –

%LocalAppData%\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Web Data

 

Step 10 – Finally, write this in a new Run dialog box and hit Enter.

Step 11 – While you are in the General tab, tap “Delete” for the “Browsing history“.

Step 12 – Remove contents from these two contents –

Internet Explorer Temporary Internet Files
Internet Explorer Cookies

After clearing these two folders, restart your device once. MS Teams will build up the cache whenever the next time you launch the app.

 

Fix 3 – Use Teams online

Microsoft Teams offers the same interface as it does on the standalone desktop client. So, you can just use MS Teams directly from your browser.

NOTE – You may use the Google Chrome or MS Edge for best experience.

Step 1 – Open up a browser.

Step 2 – Next, go to the MS Teams.

Step 3 – You need to sign in using your Microsoft Teams credentials.

After you have signed in to the MS Teams account, you can use the Teams app on the web app just like before.

 

Fix 4 – Uninstall and reinstall MS Teams app

You can just uninstall the Microsoft Teams app from your machine and, later, reinstall the same.

Step 1 – Quickly, search for “MS Teams” from the search box.

Step 2 – Next, right-click the “Microsoft Teams” and tap “Uninstall” to uninstall the app from the device.

Step 3 – Once you have uninstalled the Teams, go to Microsoft Store.

Step 4 – You can reinstall MS Teams from there directly.

Step 5 – Sign in to the MS Teams using your credentials.

See whether it can connect to the network or not.
