Significant locations on iPhone not working – How to fix

Significant locations are directly stored on your iCloud account. The significant locations let you recall your visits to favorite locations. But, what if the significant locations feature is not working on your device? If you can’t track significant locations with your iPhone, this guide will help you fix the problem.

 

Fix 1 – This is an obsolete feature

With the new iOS update, Apple has limited the visibility of the significant locations on the iOS. On the previous versions of the iOS, you could have gone through all the significant locations. But, now with the iOS 18 or later iterations of the software only shows the number of records as a Summary format. You can’t access the complete details of the significant locations directly, even if it is stored on the device/ iCloud account.

 

Fix 2 – Turn on the Significant Locations option

You have to give Significant Locations access to track your device locations.

Step 1 – At first, you have to load up the iPhone Settings.



Step 2 – Next, go to the “Privacy & Security” settings.

Step 3 – Scroll down and open up the “Location Services” tab.

Step 5 – After opening it up, turn on the “Significant Locations” option.

This will let the iPhone track the significant locations. Check if this works.

 

Fix 3 – Change the time and date

There is a trick that you can use to trick the device to get a specific significant location.

Step 1 – Open the iPhone Settings console and reach the “General” tab.

Step 2 – Next, open up the “Date & time” settings.

Step 3 – Turn off the “Set Automatically” option.

Step 4 – Now, set the date and time that you want to track the location of.

Settings > Location Services > System Services > Significant Locations

 

Check if you can now track the Significant Locations tab.

 

Fix 4 – Enable the location services

You must have the location services enabled on your device for it to work.

Step 1 – On the iPhone Settings page, load up “Privacy & Security” tab.
