iPhone keyboard layout keeps changing to default – How to fix

Does your iPhone keyboard layout keeps reverting to the standard Apple keyboard? If you have installed Gboard or other third-party keyboard for your primary keyboard setup, you won’t expect the iPhone to automatically switch to the default keyboard. This is a huge problem as you have to manually change the keyboard every time you have to use the keyboard to type something.

Why the iPhone keyboard layout keeps changing to default one?

Since the launch of the iOS, Apple wanted to you use their own proprietary keyboard. The change in the policy came in iOS8. So, if you are an Android user or have used other third-party keyboards, you may want to continue that keyboard experience on your iPhone. But, you may have noticed this weird thing with the keyboard is that Apple changes the keyboard on its own. This is a significant issue as the user have to change the keyboard manually again and again.

If there is a problem with the keyboard settings, iPhone changes it to the standard, native iPhone keyboard. So, the third-party keyboard must have some problem in the settings. You may also delete the standard keyboard from the iPhone. This way, your iPhone won’t change the third party keyboard to the normal one again.

Fix 1 – Delete the standard keyboard

You should delete the native keyboard from your iPhone. This should limit the iPhone to load your preferred keyboard.

Step 1 – Open the iPhone Settings page.

Step 2 – After this, tap the “General” part of the Settings.
