The lag that you are experiencing on the iPhone can be fixed with this easy solutions. So, without wasting any more time, enact these steps one-by-one and the lag will be gone in no time.
Fix 1 – Reset the keyboard dictionary
Adding too many custom words in the Dictionary can make the keyboard quite ‘heavy’ to use. So, you must reset the keyboard dictionary on your iPhone.
Step 1 – At first, you have to load up the Settings page.
Step 2 – Scroll down and reach the “General” tab in there.
Step 3 – In that General tab, find the “Transfer or reset iPhone” option and open it up.
Step 4 – Tap the “Reset Now” option.
Step 5 – You will see a bunch of options has appeared. You have to touch the “Reset Keyboard Dictionary” option.
A verification pop-up will appear on your screen. Provide the necessary passcode (the one that you use to unlock your iPhone).
Step 6 – Once you are done, tap the “Reset Dictionary” option one more time.
This will only reset the custom dictionary of the keyboard.
Fix 2 – Disable Predictive typing
The Predictive typing automatically predicts the words according to your writing, that in turn can cause a minor lag in the process.
Step 1 – So, open up the Settings page and go to the “General” window.
Step 2 – Open the “Keyboard” settings.
Step 3 – In the Keyboard settings page, disable the “Predictive Text” mode.

Fix 3 – Turn off Keyboard features
Apart from ‘Predictive’ texts, there are other features present in the keyboard settings that can cause a minor lag.
Step 1 – Visit the “General” tab in the Settings.
Step 2 – Open up the “Keyboard” option.
Step 3 – In the Keyboard settings tab, disable all the features one-by-one.

Fix 4 – Install and use Gboard

Step 1 – Open the App Store on your iPhone.
Step 2 – Next, type “Gboard” in the search box and install the app on the device.
After installing the Gboard tool, you may quit the App Store.
Step 3 – Open up the Search box on your phone.
Step 4 – When the keyboard opens up, hold the small 🌐 logo in the corner to view all the keyboard utilities available on your iPhone.
