The Gaming Services is a must-have component on your Windows machine to run the Xbox games. So, if gaming services are not starting, that means no Xbox games on your PC/ laptop. Given the inclusion of fresh new AAA titles to the Xbox Game Pass every month, you wouldn’t want to miss them for just some Gaming Services issue. This guide will help you troubleshoot exactly that.
Fix 1 – Use the Gaming Services Repair Tool
Microsoft has officially addressed this problem with a dedicated Gaming Services Repair Tool that does check for any fault in the Gaming Services components in the device and fix it.
Step 1 – Load up Gaming Services Repair tool.
Step 2 – Toggle the ‘Downloadable version‘ category in there.
Step 3 – Tap the “Download the Gaming Services Repair Tool for PC” link to download the Gaming Services tool.
Step 4 – Run the GamingRepairTool application on your machine.
A separate CMD terminal will open up, while the tool updates Xbox Identity Provider, Xbox Live Auth Manager and other Gaming Services components.
The entire process may take some time to complete.

Fix 2 – Repair the Gaming Services
Some users have solved the problem just by repairing the Gaming Services manually.
Step 1 – To do this, load up the Settings utility on Windows.
Step 2 – Go to the “Apps” tab.
Step 3 – Later, load up the “Installed Apps” panel.
Step 4 – Search for the “gaming services” and detect the application in there.
Step 5 – Once you have found the “Gaming Services” tool, tap the three-dot button and tap the “Advanced options” to load up the advanced list.
Step 6 – On the next step, scroll down and locate the ‘Repair’ option there. Use the “Repair” tool to repair the Gaming Services.
This way, Windows will repair the Gaming Services utility on your machine. It will fix any missing components in there as well.

Fix 3 – Uninstall and reinstall Gaming Services
You can use the terminal to remove the Gaming Services from the computer and get a fresh installation on your computer.
Step 1 – At first, search for “powershell” in the search box.
Step 2 – Next, right-click the “PowerShell” and run it with administrative rights.
Step 3 – Copy the code from here and, paste it in the terminal. Then, hit Enter to remove the Gaming Services package.

Step 4 – Run the following code to reinstall the Gaming Services package.

This will take you to the Microsoft Store page, asking for your permission to install the Gaming Services.
Step 5 – Once you are done, search for “services” from the search box.
Step 6 – Then, open up the “Services” utility from there.
Step 7 – Find the “Xbox Live Auth Manager Service” there.
Step 8 – Right-tap the service and tap “Properties“.
Step 9 – Set this policy to “Automatic” mode from there.
Step 10 – Tap the “Start” button to start the service.
Step 11 – Use the ‘Apply‘ and ‘OK‘ to save the changes.
Step 12 – Now, following the same steps, automate the following services from there ~
XblGameSave, XboxGipSvc, Xbox Live Game Save, Xbox Live Networking Service, Microsoft Store Install Service, GamingServices Game Bar Xbox TCUI
After doing all these, exit the Services tab. Restart your computer.
This will take care of the Gaming Services issue for sure.
