How to Fix Brightness Control Not Working in Windows 10:- Windows 10 has been in stores for a while. Almost everyone would have upgraded to this new version. Unfortunately, some of them would have had trouble trying to adjust brightness in their device. High brightness levels will cause burning sensation in your eyes. So you’ve to lower the brightness level. However, it is necessary to get the perfect amount of brightness depending on your outdoor conditions. It is very important to have proper brightness adjustments. Otherwise, it will have adverse effects on your  eyes.   • Press Windows + x key.  Click Device Manager.

  • Click on Display Adapters. It drops down a list.

  • Right-click on the current driver. Click Update Driver Software.

  • You get a couple of choices. Click on the first option – Search automatically for updated driver software.

Windows will choose the driver suitable for your device and install it. Still if you’re facing issues, it means that the manufacturer has not delivered any updates yet. Don’t worry. There’s a way out.

First, follow the same steps as above.

  • Press Windows + x key.  Click Device Manager.
  • Click on Display Adapters. It drops down a list.
  • Right-click on the current driver. Click Update Driver Software.

Now, choose the second option.

  • Click on Browse my computer for driver software.

  • Then click on Let me pick from a list of drivers on my computer.

  • Under Show compatible hardware, click on Microsoft Basic Display Adapter. Click Next.

Windows will install the appropriate driver. This will solve your problem.

 

Moving on, you would have come across the issue – brightness control slider was  missing. Another issue is that the brightness control hotkeys weren’t functioning properly. Upon installing AMD updates, brightness control couldn’t be done. The same fix applies to all these problems.

  • Press Windows + x key.  Click Device Manager.
  • Click on Monitors.

  • Right-click on Generic PnP Monitor. Click on the Enable.

The generic PnP monitor will be enabled solving your brightness control issues.
