Windows Explorer is one of the most used applications of windows. It is an highly capable, efficient and stable explorer ever created for an OS. Even Apple’s Mac Finder is nothing compared to Explorer. The Windows Explorer had been significantly developed over the period. With Microsoft making major overhaul in Windows 8 with Ribbon Interface. But the one thing which many users want is a multi tabbed interface. Though Microsoft might be working on it, we are not for sure. So we have a solution where in you can use tabs in Windows Explorer just like you use in Chrome Browser. The software we are going to use is freeware called Clover 3. The software is an extension that is to be installed to the Windows Explorer. It brings the tabbed interface of Chrome. It even keeps the aesthetics of explorer, clean and neat. Some of the feature of Clover 3 are
- Integrates well with Windows 7 , Windows 8/8.1, Windows 10
- You can create bookmarks, just like in Chrome.
Follow the steps given below
Step 1: Download the software.
Step 2: Once you install the software, it is readily integrated into your Windows Explorer
Step 3: If the bookmarks bar, annoys you, you can turn it off. To do so click on settings icon on top right corner > bookmarks > and uncheck the Show Bookmarks bar.
Once it’s installed and set, the tab feature are very similar to the chrome tabs. You can use
- Ctrl + Tab: Switch between tabs.
- Ctrl + W: Close the current tab.
- Ctr + T: Open a new tab.
- Ctrl + Shift + T: Restore previously closed tab.
- Ctrl + D: Bookmarks the current page.
If you are one of those power users, who want to keep tabs in single explorer, then clover 3 will surely satisfy your needs. hey there! I’m a huge fan of clover. I just downloaded it again for a new PC build and windows defender reported a trojan. Its probably a false-positive but thought I’d mention it seeing as this is not being developed any more
