When you try to connect the Bluetooth on your computer a few of you might get the error saying Bluetooth is not available on this device. Probably the device is failing to detect the Bluetooth hardware. The reasons could be corrupted files, the device needing to be reconnected, the reinstallation of drivers, the need for an update for the drivers, etc. But this problem can be solved. This article has different solutions to the Bluetooth not available on this device issue. So try the below methods and get rid of the problem.
Method 1: Turn On The Bluetooth
Step 1: Open the Windows settings using Windows + I keys together
Step 2: Click on the Devices option
Step 3: In the Bluetooth & other devices page, turn on Bluetooth by clicking on the toggle bar (a blue mark should be present on the toggle bar)
This method is the basic requirement. Now check if the issue is solved, if not try the below solutions.
Method 2: Run The Bluetooth Troubleshooter
Step 1: Open the Windows settings using Windows + I keys together
Step 2: Click on update & security
Step 3: On the left click on troubleshoot
Step 4: At the right side click on additional troubleshooters
Step 5: Scroll down and find Bluetooth
Step 6: Select it and there appears run the troubleshooter button. Click on it
Step 7: If there are any problems the fix will be applied and the issue will be solved.
Method 3: Restart The Bluetooth Support Service
Step 1: Open the run prompt using Windows + R keys together
Step 2: Type services.msc in the run prompt and hit enter
Step 3: Scroll down and find Bluetooth support service
Step 4: Right click on it and click on restart
Step 5: Click on yes in the confirmation window
Step 6: Now double click on the Bluetooth support service
Step 7: From the start type dropdown select automatic
Step 8: To save the changes click on apply and ok. Then check if the problem is solved.
Method 4: Change The Bluetooth Settings
Step 1: Open the run prompt using Windows + R keys together
Step 2: Type control in the run prompt and hit enter. This will open the control panel
Step 3: In the search box type Bluetooth and hit enter
Step 4: On the left side click on Change Bluetooth settings
Step 5: In the options tab, enable “Allow Bluetooth devices to find this PC” by clicking on the checkbox beside it
Step 6: To save the changes click on apply and ok
Step 7: Restart the computer and then check if it works.
Method 5: Reconnect The Bluetooth Device
Step 1: Open the Windows settings using Windows + I keys together
Step 2: Click on the Devices option
Step 3: Make sure the Bluetooth is on like mentioned in the Method 1
Step 4: In the other devices section, remove the paired devices if any. To do this click on the paired device then click on remove device button
Step 5: Click on yes in the confirmation window and that particular device will be removed
Step 6: Now click on add Bluetooth or other device
Step 7: In the opened window, choose the type of device you want to add. For example here I will select Bluetooth
Step 8: In the appeared list select the device that you want to connect to then click on connect. Now check if the issue is solved.
Method 6: Update The Bluetooth Drivers
Step 1: Open the run prompt using Windows + R keys together
Step 2: Type devmgmt.msc in the run prompt and hit enter. This will open the device manager
Step 3: Expand the Bluetooth option by clicking on the arrow beside it
Step 4: Right click on the Bluetooth driver and then click on update driver
Step 5: Select search automatically for drivers and once the driver is updated check if the problem is resolved.
Method 7: Re-install The Bluetooth Drivers
Step 1: Open the run prompt using Windows + R keys together
Step 2: Type devmgmt.msc in the run prompt and hit enter. This will open the device manager
Step 3: Expand the Bluetooth option by clicking on the arrow beside it
Step 4: Right-click on the Bluetooth driver and then click on uninstall device
Step 5: In the confirmation window click on uninstall button
Step 6: Restart the device and the driver will be installed automatically. Else you can also download and install it from the manufacturer’s website. Then check if the issue is solved.
Method 8: Turn off Fast Startup
Step 1: Open the run prompt using Windows + R keys together
Step 2: Type control in the run prompt and hit enter. This will open the control panel
Step 3: In the view by dropdown click on large icons
Step 4: Click on Power options
Step 5: From the left, click on Choose what the power buttons do
Step 6: At the right side, click on Change settings that are currently unavailable
Step 7: Uncheck turn on fast setup option by clicking on the checkbox beside it (a tick mark should not be present)
Step 8: Click on the save changes button at the bottom
Method 9: Run The SFC And DISM Scan
Step 1: Open the command prompt as an administrator. To do this type cmd in the windows search and hold Ctrl + Shift keys then hit enter
Step 2: A user account control window will open click on yes
Step 3: Type the following command and hit enter
sfc /scannow
Step 4: Once the process is finished, type the below command and hit enter
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
Step 5: After the execution, restart your computer and check if the issue is solved.
