Having some problem with the automatic tuner on the NVIDIA app on your system? The GPUs are made to serve different purposes on different systems. All the users don’t use their GPUs equally. So, the NVIDIA App use this Automatic Tuner feature to analyze the user purpose and tune the GPU according to the graphics processing power requirement. But, if the tuning process gets interrupted in the middle, these fixes should help.
Fix 1- Turn off the NVIDIA Overlay
Turn off the NVIDIA Overlay on your screen.
Step 1 – Open the NVIDIA App.
Step 2 – Then, go to the “⚙Settings” option from the left tab.
Step 3 – Next, disable the “NVIDIA Overlay” settings.
Check if this helps.
Fix 2 – Disable the Instant Replay function
The ‘Instant Replay’ function may intervene with the automatic tuning process.
Step 1 – The Instant Replay function is a part of the NVIDIA Overlay.
Step 2 – So, if you have not disabled it already, you can press the Alt+Z buttons to call the overlay once.
Step 3 – Next, tap the “Instant Replay” function.
Step 4 – Turn off the “Instant Replay” option there.
After turning it off, your GPU will be tuned automatically.
Fix 3 – Kill any major background apps
The app cannot tune the GPU while they are being used extensively by the apps running in the background.
Step 1 – You can close any GPU-heavy apps like games, video editor like DaVinci Resolve, Premier Pro.
Step 2 – But, in case if you can’t close the app directly, press the Ctrl+Shift+Esc keys together to get access to the Task Manager.
Step 3 – Then, right-click any such app and tap “End task” to kill them.
Once you are sure there are no such apps running in the backyard, NVIDIA App will run the automatic tuning process and complete the process.
Fix 4 – Lower the monitor refresh rate
Some users have reported that lowering the monitor resolution has solved the problem for them. You may try this approach.
Step 1 – Open the Settings on your system.
Step 2 – Then, go to the “System” settings.
Step 3 – On the other hand, tap the “Display” settings.
Step 4 – Scroll down to open the “Advanced display” to open it up.
Step 5 – Find the refresh rate there. Set that to a low refresh rate of the display.
Check back with the tuning of the GPU device via the NVIDIA app. Test if this works.
