A small set of Apple users have escalated this problem where the deleted attachments seem to be coming back on the iPhone. This is not a usual problem that you may stumble upon while using the iPhone as the daily driver. Without spending any more time, you should try these fixes to fix this problem.
The reason behind this problem –
This problem is actually associated with your iCloud settings. Your iPhone automatically uploads a copy of the images, videos, documents, message or other files into the iCloud securely. Now, when you remove the same file from your iPhone, the file gets removed from the local storage. But, the copy of the same file in your iCloud remains intact. Sometimes, when the iCloud re-syncs the contents, the item that you have removed from your iPhone may get downloaded.
So, the best way of putting this to a stop is turning off the sync settings of the iCloud. You can do this for all the apps on your iCloud, or you can change the app’s settings according to the files that are appearing even after deleting them. Like, if the messages are re-surfacing even after you have deleted them, you can stop the sync in the Messages app.
Fix – Disable the iCloud synchronization settings
Follow these steps to disable the synchronization settings in the iPhone settings.
Step 1 – You have to touch the ⚙icon to open the Settings.
Step 2 – Next, you will see your name at the top of the Settings bar. This is your Apple ID. Tap to open it at once.
Step 3 – Once you are there, scroll down and open the “iCloud” settings.
Step 4 – Locate the “Saved to iCloud” panel. This consists of all the apps and data that are currently synced with your iCloud settings. Tap “See All“.
Now, you have to open the application or service that is associated with the files are that are appearing even after the removal of the files on your iPhone.
Step 5 – In our case, we have opened the “Messages in iCloud” settings.
Step 6 – Switch off the “Use on this iPhone” option.
Disabling this setting will give you the option to download the files from the iCloud and store them on your iPhone locally.
Step 7 – So, tap the “Disable and Download Messages” option.
Allow a few minutes or more to the iPhone. The downloading process and time depends solely upon the network that you are using.
When all the files and elements are downloaded on your iPhone, you are done. The attachments or files won’t show up on your device even when you have removed them from there.
