Does the Action Center keeps popping up on your Windows again and again? Action Center consists of all the essential items like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Focus Assist, etc. The entire idea of Action Center is to offer you shortcut keys right on the dock. But, if the Action Center keeps on opening automatically, you are expected to get annoyed from it. This issue with the Action Center is nothing new. But, you can handle on your own.
Fix 1 – Disable the four-finger gesture
This is the result of a gesture on your Windows computer. The gesture settings on Windows 11 allow you to open up the Action Center just using the 4-finger gesture.
Step 1 – Open up the Settings page on your computer. Do that using the Win+I key together.
Step 2 – Then, go to the “Devices” option.
Step 3 – Open up the “Mouse & Touchpad” settings from there.
Step 4 – You will find the gestures on the “Four-finger gestures” menu.
Step 5 – Set this to “Nothing” on the subsequent step to disable the gesture on your computer.
The Action Center won’t open up automatically after this.
NOTE –
If you can’t find the gesture settings or touchpad settings directly on the Windows Settings page, you may take this route~
1. Follow this path on your computer - Settings > Devices > Mouse and Touchpad settings > Additional Mouse options
2. From there, go to the “Touch Pad” settings and explore the “Tapping option“.
3. Then, disable the “4-finger gesture” from there.
This should fix the occasional Action Center page opening problem at your end.
Fix 2 – Turn off Action Center using registry
You may disable the entire Action Center and Notifications settings by tweaking the system registry.
Step 1 – At first, press the Win+R keys.
Step 2 – Next, type this word and hit Enter.
regedit
NOTE – You must keep a registry backup in case of emergency. Follow the 1-minute guide from here.
Step 3 – Go straight to this address in there* ~
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer
Step 4 – Now, go to the right-hand tab. Next, right-click the “New> and choose the “DWORD (32-bit) Value“.
Step 5 – Name this new DWORD value as “DisableNotificationCenter“.
Step 6 – Now, double-tap the same DWORD value to edit it.
Step 7 – Set the value of this DWORD to “1“. Tap “OK“.
Once you have changed the values, close the Registry Editor. Restart your computer.
Once you have rebooted the device, you can’t access the Notification center or Action Center.

*NOTE – If you can’t find the “Explorer” key, you have to recreate the key –
Step 1 – Right-click the “Windows” key and tap “New>” and tap “Key“.
Step 2 – Then, name the key “Explorer“.
After creating the key, you can proceed to the main part of the settings.

Step 1 – Open up the Settings.
Step 2 – Next, load up the “System” settings.
Step 3 – Go to the “Notifications & actions” panel.
Step 4 – Disable the “Get notifications from apps and other senders“.
Disabling the notifications is a workaround. The Action Center won’t pop up again and again.
Fix 4 – Dismiss notifications after a while (Windows 11)
Configure the Windows to dismiss the notifications automatically after a specified time.
Step 1 – On your Windows Settings, go to the “Accessibility” tab.
Step 2 – Open up the “Visual effects” settings.
Step 3 – Now, open the “Dismiss notifications after this amount of time” to “5 seconds” from the drop-down panel.
This simple tweak should help mitigate the situation.
Fix 5 – Use Focus Assist (DND Mode)
Using the Focus Assist is an excellent way of ignoring all the incoming app notifications.
Windows 10 users/ Focus Assist method
Step 1 – Tap the Action Center icon on the taskbar.
Step 2 – Next, tap the “Focus Assist” once and set it to “Priority Only” mode.
The Action Center won’t pop up automatically.
Windows 11
You can use the Do Not Disturb mode to deny the notifications on Windows.
Step 1 – In the Windows Settings page, open up the “System” tab.
Step 2 – Next, open up the “Notifications” settings.
Step 3 – On the Notifications tab, turn on the “Do not disturb” in there.
After turning it off, you can expect the Action Center to behave normally. You won’t get disturbed again.
