Remember my apps and preferences are greyed out in Windows 11 [Fix]

There are new features added by Microsoft for remembering the applications and other preferences of Windows users while using their different devices. Those features are called Remember my apps and Remember my preferences.

But many Windows users recently started complaining that they are able to see those features on the system but are unable to use this feature because Remember my apps and Remember my preferences options are greyed out on their Windows 11 system.

This is really frustrating because they do not know how to resolve this issue. In this article, we have described 2 methods by which the user can fix this problem and make use of this feature on their system.

Fix 1 – Use Microsoft Account to sign in

 



Step 1: Open the Settings app on your system by pressing the Windows and I keys together.

Step 2: Select the Accounts option on the left side menu of the Settings window.

Step 3: On the Accounts page, click the Your info option under the Accounts settings section as shown below.

Step 4: Here you will find the Sign in with a Microsoft account instead link.

Step 5: Then you will have to log in with your Microsoft account credentials.

Fix 2 – Unlink the OneDrive account

 

Step 1: Click the upward arrow to view the system tray on the taskbar.

Step 2: Then click on the OneDrive icon present in the system tray.

Step 3: Choose the Help & Settings icon on the top right corner of the OneDrive pop-up window.

Step 4: Click the Settings option from the list.

Step 5: In the Settings window, select the Account tab and click the Unlink this PC in the OneDrive – Personal section at the top as shown below.

Step 6: This will immediately unlink your Microsoft account from the OneDrive app.
