Steam is an app used to play games, and chat with friends. There is a feature in the steam app called steam overlay using which steam users can use steam features while playing games irrespective of launching the app again. Step 1: Open the Steam app
Step 2: On the top click on library
Step 3: Then right click on that particular game and click on properties
Step 4: On the left click on general
Step 5: Untick the checkbox beside Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game (a tick mark should not be present)
Step 6: To save the changes click on Ok.

Step 6: To save the changes click on Ok
Step 7: This will disable the steam overlay option while playing games.
How To Enable Or Turn On The Steam Overlay
Step 1: Open the Steam app
Step 2: On the top left click on the Steam option
Step 3: From the appeared list click on settings
Step 4: In the settings window, on the left select in-game
Step 5: At the right side, tick (a tick mark should be present) the checkbox beside Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game to enable it. To tick, you can click on the checkbox (a tick mark will appear in the box)
Step 6: To save the changes click on Ok
Step 7: This will enable back the steam overlay option while playing games.
