The sharing of internet has become easier with the introduction of hotspot technology. But, while connecting to a hotspot, you may have stumbled upon this “Hotspot login cannot open the page because too many redirects occurred.” message. This particular problem seems to appear while connecting to a public Wi-Fi. To fix this issue, you have to tweak some Safari settings or clear the Safari browser cache settings.
Fix 1 – Don’t permit the Safari to block cookies
Safari block all the cookies upon the user request. But, the public Wi-Fi (like Airport or Station) may use the web cookies during the log-in process. So, if Safari restricts all the cookies, you can’t connect to the hotspot and hence, the error message.
Step 1 – Go ahead and open the Settings page on your iPhone.
Step 2 – In the Settings page, open the “Apps” tab, next.
Step 3 – After opening the Apps tab, find the “Safari” application and open it up.
Step 4 – In the Safari app, locate the “Block All Cookies” parameter and disable it.
After disabling the cookies in the Safari application, retry logging into the Wi-Fi. This time, you won’t see the redirect message again.
Fix 2 – Clear all the Safari history
Clear out all the Safari history from your iPhone to fix the problem.
Step 1 – Open up the Settings.
Step 2 – Next, go to the “Apps” module one more time.
Step 3 – Later, open up the “Safari” app once again.
Step 4 – After getting to the Safari settings, tap the “Clear History and Website Data” module.
Follow the on-screen steps to clear the Safari browser history. After cleaning up the tabs on Safari, give the hotspot another try.
Fix 3 – Clear the iPhone Network
When you have connected too many iPhone network, it can get into the way of connecting to the new hotspot.
Step 1 – Get to the iPhone Settings.
Step 2 – Next, open the “General” tab.
Step 3 – Go straight to the “Transfer or reset iPhone” settings option.
Step 4 – Tap the “Reset” option once.
Step 5 – Later, you can use the “Reset Network Settings” option.
You may have already got this but using this option will delete any saved up network credentials from your device. This won’t take much time. So, wait for the process to complete, and the network gets reset.
Try to reconnect to the Wi-Fi. Check whether this works.
