Can’t print frozen rows or columns on succeeding pages on Excel – How to fix

Printing Excel spreadsheets is similar to other spreadsheet processors. So, you should not have any problem printing all the rows, columns of your Excel sheet. But, it seems that we can’t say the same thing for the Excel spreadsheets with frozen rows or columns on succeeding pages. There are some users who are having some problem printing Excel workbooks that have frozen rows or columns. These solutions should help you resolve the issue.

What is a frozen row or column, and why can’t I print frozen rows/columns?

The rows or columns that don’t change with scrolling through the spreadsheet are known as the frozen columns or rows. This is a viewing modification rather than a permanent change on the spreadsheet. As this is just a viewing attribute, when you print such a spreadsheet, the frozen row or column doesn’t repeat automatically.

You may use the ‘Print Titles’ modification present in Excel to counter this problem. Just use the feature and mention which of the rows and columns that you need to repeat on the subsequent pages of the worksheet. Follow the steps mentioned here to execute on your worksheet.

Fix – Use the Print Titles mode

Using the Print Titles mode to specify the repeating rows and columns will print the frozen rows or columns.

Step 1 – Open your main worksheet and scroll to the top of the sheet.

Step 2 – Next, go to “Print Layout” and tap “Print Titles” option.

Step 4 – Now, select the row that you want to repeat from the worksheet.

Step 5 – You will see the row number in the box for reference.

select row min

Step 6 – You can do the same thing with the column by specifying which column that you want to repeat.

select column min

Step 7 – Once you have selected the repeating rows and columns, tap “OK” to save the changes.

You can now print your worksheet without any problem with the repeating rows and columns problem.

Hope this works out!
