Does the call history from your iPhone getting shared to your iPad? The continuity feature allows users to get access to the call history on their iPad, directly from their iPhones. While this synchronization feature is quite useful where you can access the call records from your iPad, it may not be the same case with you.
Why the Call History getting shared between iPhone and iPad?
Apple does sync the call history, contacts across your devices. It uses iCloud to do that. When you log in to your iPad using the same Apple ID that you use on your iPhone, it automatically syncs the contacts, call history on the iPad as well.
Disabling this feature is not as easy as you think. There are several features intertwined in this system that let you synchronize the contacts across devices.
Fix – 1 Disable the iCloud Drive
Apple does sync the call history across devices using the iCloud. So, disabling some basic iCloud features should do the job.
Steps to follow on your iPhone ~
Step 1 – Open up Settings page on the device.
Step 2 – Next, tap your Apple ID there on your page.
Step 3 – After opening the Apple ID settings, load up the “iCloud” settings.
Step 4 – Tap the “See All” option to load up all the settings.
Step 5 – Then, turn off the “Contacts” module from there.
Step 6 – Tap the “Keep on My iPhone” option to store the contacts directly on device.
Step 7 – Tap the “iCloud Drive” option there.
Step 8 – Disable the “Sync this iPhone” option.
Step 9 – Then, tap the “Turn off Syncing iCloud Drive” option.
After turning off this option, check if this works.
Steps to follow on your iPad ~
Step 1 – Open the iPad Settings. Go to the Apple ID in there.
Step 2 – In the Apple ID settings page, open up the same “iCloud” settings.
Step 3 – In the iCloud settings, tap the same ‘See All‘ panel.
Step 4 – Then, disable the “Contacts” option.
Step 5 – Later, open the “iCloud Drive” option and turn off the “Turn off Syncing iCloud Drive” feature.
After disabling this, you won’t be seeing your call history on your iPad.
Fix 2 – Use different Apple IDs
The best solution to break this sync on the devices is just to use different Apple IDs on your iPad and iPhone. You can distinguish the Apple ID from the email mentioned just below your Apple ID photo on both the devices.
Step 1 – Open the Settings page on your iPhone.
Step 2 – Next, you have to touch the Apple ID on there to load up the Apple ID credentials.
Step 3 – Do that on the other device to check whether you are using the same Apple ID on both the devices or not.
Simply use a new Apple ID on your alternative devices to get rid of the contacts syncing problem. Check if this works!
