The alarm is one of the good features that come with most smartphones nowadays. It not only helps in getting the user to wake up from sleep but also can be used as a reminder that rings at the set time.
These days many iPhone users are complaining that the alarms on their iPhones are not ringing properly and it is creating a problem for them. There are many potential reasons why the alarms are not ringing and they could be because the iPhone is in silent mode, changes done to the alarm settings, the low sound tone is selected as the alarm tone, the Bluetooth device is connected to the iPhone, etc.
After researching the various causes of this issue, we have compiled a set of solutions in the post below.
Preliminary Solutions
- Ensure iPhone is not in Silent Mode – When the iPhone is in silent mode, it simply silences all notifications from apps, calls, and alarms as well. Therefore, make sure your iPhone is not in silent mode by turning the silent switch on the side of the iPhone.
- Disable the Do Not Disturb Focus Mode – If you have accidentally enabled the Do Not Disturb mode on your iPhone, you may find this issue. So go to the Control Centre on your iPhone and tap on Focus and disable the Do Not Disturb option.
- Try updating the iOS software on your iPhone – Updating the software on your iPhone can basically fix most of the issues due to changes in the version on your iPhone. We suggest updating the iPhone software via Settings > General > Software Update.
Solution 1 – Force Restart your iPhone
Step 1: To force restart your iPhone, firstly, you need to press the volume-up button on the side of your iPhone once and leave it.
Step 2: Next, you have to do the same with the volume-down button.
Step 3: Then press the iPhone’s power button once and hold it.
Step 4: Release the power button after you get to see the Apple logo on your screen.
Step 5: This force restarts your iPhone.
Solution 2 – Delete and Set the Alarms again
Step 1: Tap on the Clock app icon from the home screen.
Step 2: Select the Alarm tab at the bottom panel.
Step 3: Now from the list of alarms, swipe one of the alarms which you wanna delete, to the left side and click Delete as shown below.
Step 4: This will delete the alarm you selected.
Step 5: After that, to create a new alarm, click on the Plus sign (+) at the top right corner of the Clock app as shown.
Step 6: Set the time appropriately on the popped-up window and click Save.
Step 7: This creates a new alarm on your iPhone.
Solution 3 – Modify the Alarm Sound
Step 1: Go to the Clock app on your iPhone.
Step 2: Now go to the Alarm tab.
Step 3: Tap on the alarm already you have set earlier.
Step 4: Here, you need to check whether the Sound is selected correctly or not.
Step 5: If it shows None, it means it will not ring any sound when the alarm goes off.
Step 6: Also, download any high-quality sound to set the alarm tone to ring louder.
Solution 4 – Change the Sound Settings on iPhone
Step 1: You first have to launch the Settings app on your iPhone.
Step 2: Now click on the Sounds & Haptics option as shown below.
Step 3: Increase the Ringtone and Alert volume by sliding the slider to the right.
Step 4: Once done, close the Settings app and restart your iPhone.
Step 5: Now test whether the alarm is ringing or not.
Solution 5 – Disable Bluetooth on your iPhone
Step 1: Open the Settings app first on the iPhone.
Step 2: Search for the Bluetooth option from the settings menu list and click on it.
Step 3: Disable the Bluetooth option by tapping on its toggle button as shown below.
Step 4: This disconnects any Bluetooth device connected to your iPhone.
Solution 6 – Turn Off the Attention Aware Feature
Step 1: Go to your Settings page on the iPhone first.
Step 2: Then select the Face ID & Passcode option from the list.
Step 3: It will ask you to authenticate using your Face ID/Passcode to continue.
Step 4: On successful authentication, scroll down and tap on the Attention-Aware Features option’s toggle switch to turn it off as shown below.
Solution 7 – Enable the Snooze option for the Alarm
Step 1: First of all, launch the Clock app on your iPhone.
Step 2: Go to the Alarm tab at the bottom.
Step 3: Tap on the alarm whose Snooze option you wanna change.
Step 4: Now click on the Snooze option’s toggle button to enable it.
Step 5: Once done, click Save.
Solution 8 – Turn Off Change with Buttons option
Step 1: Launch the Settings app.
Step 2: Tap on the Sounds & Haptics option.
Step 3: Click on the Change with Buttons‘s toggle switch to turn it off as shown in the below screenshot.
Solution 9 – Reset All Settings
Step 1: You need to go to the Settings app.
Step 2: Later, go to the General option.
Step 3: Scroll down the general page and select the Transfer or Reset iPhone option.
Step 4: Then click on the Reset option.
Step 5: This might pop up a small window on the screen where you have to select the Reset All Settings option.
Step 6: To continue, enter the iPhone passcode.
Step 7: After that, tap on Reset All Settings once again to confirm.
Step 8: Now it begins to reset all settings on your iPhone.
