How to Fix SOS Only Status Bar on iPhone [Solved]

A lot of iPhone users have experienced an issue on their iPhones where the SOS Only is shown in the status bar of their iPhones. Instead of the cellular network name, it displays SOS or Emergency contacts Only in the status bar for some iPhone users.

This issue might have occurred due to the following reasons.

Fix 1 – Refresh the Mobile Network Connection

Step 1: Open the Settings page on your iPhone.

Step 2: Tap on the Airplane Mode’s toggle button to enable it.

Step 3: Once it gets enabled, it will disconnect the mobile network on your iPhone.

Step 4: Now after some time, you have to disable it again by clicking on the Airplane Mode’s toggle button.

Step 5: After this, you can try disabling the Mobile Data and enabling it again can refresh the mobile data service on your iPhone.

Fix 2 – Turn On Data Roaming

Step 1: Go to the Settings app first and select the Mobile Data option by clicking on it as shown.

Step 2: Then you need to choose Mobile Data Options by clicking on it.

Step 3: Afterwards, turn on the Data Roaming option by clicking on its toggle switch.

NOTE – If you do not find the Data roaming option, please check if you have enabled the Mobile Data option.

Fix 3 – Remove the SIM Card and Insert it again

If the SIM card is not placed properly, it can throw such errors and this can be resolved by simply removing the SIM card holder by inserting the pointed tip on the side of the iPhone. Then wipe the SIM card with a clean cloth and place it back in the holder and insert it back into the iPhone.

Fix 4 – Use 4G/LTE Instead of 5G

Step 1: You should first go to the Settings app on the iPhone.

Step 2: After that, select the Mobile Data option from the settings list.

Step 4: Now you should click on Voice & Data.

Step 5: Here, you must select the 4G option from the list instead of 5G.

Fix 5 – Turn Off Automatic Selection and Turn it On later

Step 1: Launch the Settings app.

Step 2: Tap on the Mobile Data option.

Step 3: Once it opens, click on the Network Selection option as shown in the below screenshot.

Step 4: After that, disable the Automatic option by clicking on the toggle switch.

Step 5: This begins to search for the mobile networks around you and lists them.

Step 6: Once done, you can now enable the Automatic option by tapping on the toggle switch as shown in the image below.

Fix 6 – Reset Network Settings on the iPhone
