A problem was occured with the TrueDepth camera, Face ID has been disabled: Fix

Facing problems with the FaceID’s TrueDepth camera? FaceID uses the TrueDepth camera to analyze your face in 3D to distinguish it from others. Now, this is the central part of the FaceID system. So, if you are getting this messages “A problem has occurred with the TrueDepth Camera; FaceID has been disabled“, there is a serious problem with the FaceID system. Following these fixes should help you resolve the issue.

 

Fix 1 – Clean up the Front Face of the camera

For most of the cases, there is some obstruction in front of the TrueDepth camera and thus the error message is showing up.

Step 1 – So, find a piece of microfiber cloth and use that to clean up the FaceID or notch part of the screen.



Step 2 – Clean up the entire region correctly.

Once you do this, retry using the FaceID once again.

 

Fix 2 – Force restart the iPhone

If the FaceID doesn’t work, you have to force-restart the iPhone.

Step 1 – Start from pinching the Volume Up button and release.

Step 2 – Do that to Volume Down button as well.

Step 3 – After this, what you have to do is to hold down the Power button to engage the force-restart procedure.

When you long press the Power button too long, the iPhone does get rebooted and there, you will see the Apple Logo has appeared.

Finally, when that happens and the iPhone does get restarted, you can use the FaceID once again to unlock your device.

 

Fix 3 – Reset the FaceID

If still have not sorted out this problem with the FaceID, reset the FaceID data and

Step 1 – At first, load up the Settings window and go to the “FaceID & Passcode” page.

These settings won’t be available, unless you use the Apple ID passcode.

Step 2 – Once you have access to the FaceID information page on your iPhone, you will find the “Reset Face ID” option.

Step 3 – Tap that once.

Follow through the on-screen steps to reset the Face ID data.

NOTE – If you have the “Stolen Device Protection” feature enabled, you have to disable that from here –

Settings > Stolen Device Protection > Off

Additionally, if you have the ‘Security Delay‘ feature turned on, this entire process may take longer time to complete.

Step 4 – Once you have reset the FaceID data, you can add your Face ID to your iPhone from the same page.

Step 5 – So, follow the on-screen steps to set up your new Face ID.

Once you have created the new Face ID, you can use it.

You won’t be seeing the A problem has occurred with the TrueDepth Camera; FaceID has been disabled” message again.
