Don’t worry. This error can be solved with a number of fixes. Just follow these easy resolutions to fix the issue.
Workarounds–
1. Run a full scan of your files with Windows Security (or any other antivirus).
2. Check if there are any Windows Updates still pending. You can check it this way –
Settings > Updates & Security > Windows Update
Fix 1 – Delete the SoftwareDistribution folder
1. Simply press the Windows key and the ‘I‘ key together.
2. After that you need to click on “Update and Security“.
3. Then, click on the “Recovery“.
4. After that, under the “Advanced Startup” section, click on “Restart Now“.
5. Once your pc reboots, just click on “Troubleshoot“.
6. After that, choose the “Advanced options” menu.
7. Simply, click on the “Startup Settings“.
8. Finally to restart your device in the correct manner, click on “Restart“.
9. Here you will detect various possibilities of startup types.
10. Then, press F4 from your keyboard to select the option that says “Enable Safe Mode“.
Soon, your computer will boot into safe mode.
11. Press Windows key+R to launch Run.
12. To access the Download folder, paste this location, and hit Enter.
C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\
12. Once you reach the SoftwareDistribution folder, remove everything from it.
Close File Explorer window.
Reboot your computer. It will be booted normally.
Fix 2 – Try the startup repair
Windows Startup Repair can take care of this issue.
1. First of all open the Settings screen and click on “Update and Security“.
2. On the left-hand side, click on “Recovery“.
3. After that, under ‘Advanced Startup’, click on “Restart Now“.
Your device will boot into the Windows Recovery Environment.
4. You have to click on “Troubleshoot“.
5. After that, simply click on “Advanced options“.
6. Click on “Startup Repair” to repair the startup process.
Windows will check any problems with the startup and fix them in the process.
Fix 3 – Check the RAM, Hard Drive, Power Supply

Fix 4 – Check the drivers
If your computer has received a recent update for any of the drivers on your computer, try to uninstall/rollback or disable the driver.
We are going to show how to check for the uninstall or rollback driver updates.
1. Open the Settings screen.
2. Next, click on “Update and Security” settings.
3. After that, click on the “Recovery“,
4. Next, under the “Advanced Startup” section, click on “Restart Now“.
5. Now, proceed in this way –
Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart
6. Then, press the “F4” key to boot your computer in safe mode.
7. Once the computer boots in safe mode press the Windows key + R keys together.
8. Then, type “devmgmt.msc” and hit Enter.
9. Then the Device Manager opens up, expand the drivers you want to adjust.
10. After that, double click on the recently changed driver graphics driver.
11. Here, click on the “Driver” tab.
12. Here, you have three distinct options –
a. To rollback a driver update, just click on the “Rollback Driver“.
b. You can disable the driver just by clicking on “Disable Device“.
Or,
c. To uninstall the device driver, click on “Uninstall Device“.
13. Follow the steps according to the operation you have performed earlier (Whether you have uninstalled/ rolled back or disabled the driver)
a. Once you have rollbacked/uninstalled the device, just restart your computer.
During the restart, Windows will notice the missing driver and install the default driver while the system is booting up.
b. If you have disabled the device driver, open the Device Manager screen
Then, right-click on the disabled driver and click on “Enable device“.
This should take care of the issue of automatic restart in a minute message.
Additional Tips –
1. Sometimes a faulty USB device connected to your system can throw up this error.
Disconnect the USB devices one-by-one and check about the issue.
2. Some users also suggested detaching the Bluetooth wireless mouse/keyboard while you are booting up your system. These devices can cause the stall.
