Windows 11 is shutting down instead of restarting – How to fix

Fix 1 – Disable the automatic restart feature

Fix 2 – Change the Power button settings

Make sure that pressing the Power button is shutting down the system, not putting it to sleep.

Step 5 – If you are using a laptop, do this for “On battery” and “Plugged in” both the states.

Fix 3 – Turn off the Fast Startup

The ‘Fast Startup’ can be the reason why you are having this problem.

Step 1 – At first, call up a Run box.

Fix 4 – Turn off Windows Updates

Restarting your system is a crucial part of Windows Update process. So, you can just pause the Windows Update to avoid this problem.

Step 1 – Hit the Win+I button together and reach the Settings page.
