One of the most peculiar issue that you can face on an iPhone is the inability to shut down the device. If you have found yourself in this situation, there is nothing to worry. Fix 1 – Force shut down the iPhone
If the regular ‘Power off’ is not working for your iPhone, you should perform a hard-restart procedure on the device to restart it force-fully.
Step 1 – The entire process is very simple. Start by pressing the Volume + button. Just pinch it once and leave it be.
Step 2 – Next, hold down the Volume – button for a brief few seconds and release that.
After executing this procedure, here comes the final part of the process.
Step 3 – Hold on to the Power button of the device. Don’t release the button, even when the screen shows up ‘Slide to Power Off‘ logo.
Instead, hold on to the Power button until the iPhone restarts automatically.

Fix 2 – Use the Control Center
If you are using the iOS 18 or the later version of the iOS, you will have an additional option to shut down your iPhone.
Step 1 – This process is very simple. Just go ahead and toggle the Control Center.
Step 2 – There, you will see a Power button in the top.
Step 3 – Long press that Power button, and you will see the shut-down toggle on your screen.

Fix 3 – Shutdown the iPhone from Settings
If you have a slightly older iPhone, there is a ‘Shutdown’ toggle in the Settings page.
Step 1 – Go straight to the Settings page.
Step 2 – There, tap the “General” tab.
Step 3 – At the bottom of the page, you shall find the “Shut Down” option.
Use that to shut down the iPhone.
