Vertical Ruler missing from Microsoft Word – How to fix

What is a Vertical Ruler and why it is important?

The official documents, like the offer letter that you have received while joining or even a formal conveyance letters, follow particular measurements, alignments. Vertical Letter makes this measurement possible, giving the composer the liberty to set the vertical spacings and follow a word count per line instructions.

The missing Vertical Ruler can be enabled one or two ways. There is a simple, shortcut technique to do that. But, if that fails, there is always this toggle in the Word settings to fix the problem.



 

Fix 1 – Enable Ruler from View

The best and quickest way to enable the Ruler is to enable it to follow these steps.

Step 1 – Open the Microsoft Word.

Step 2 – Then, open the “View” from the top bar.

Step 3 – Check the “Ruler” from there to enable it.

Fix 2 – Turn on the Show Vertical Ruler from Word Options

If you want the Vertical Ruler in the Print Layout page, you can do that from the Word settings.

Step 1 – On MS Word, tap the “File” button.

Step 2 – Next, tap the “Word Options” module.

Step 3 – In the Word Options page, go to the “Advanced” section.

Step 4 – Now, start to scroll down through the right-hand pane. Do this until you reach the ‘Display’ part.

Step 5 – Check the “Show vertical ruler in Print Layout” mode.



Step 6 – Don’t forget to tap the “OK” button to save the change.
