How to Rotate Text Direction in MS Powerpoint

Powerpoint is the most effective tool for creating presentations for meetings and seminars. While most users add text paragraphs, bar graphs, charts, or photos to their PowerPoint show, some users may need to change the alignment or direction of the text to meet their needs.

If you’re new to using Powerpoint on a Windows system, this post will show you how to set or rotate text direction in Powerpoint using two different ways.

 

How to Set or Rotate Text Direction in Powerpoint

We have listed two methods by which the user can change the text direction in PowerPoint with a few simple steps given below.

Method 1:

Step 1: Open the PowerPoint application on your system by pressing the Windows key and typing powerpoint.

Step 2: Then, select PowerPoint application from the search results as shown below.

Step 3: Once it opens, Double click on Blank Presentation for opening a new document.

Step 4: Then, Type something in the new document by clicking over “Click to add a title” and “Click to add a subtitle” as shown below.

Step 5: After finishing typing, Select the text whose direction you want to change.

Step 6: Make sure the Home tab is selected and click on the Text direction icon to see the dropdown list of options.

Step 7: Once done, Select Rotate all text 90° OR Rotate all text 270° OR Stacked option from the list as per your need as shown below.

Method 2:

Step 1: Open the PowerPoint application on your system by pressing the Windows key and typing powerpoint.

Step 2: Then, select PowerPoint application from the search results as shown below.

Step 3: Once it opens, Double click on Blank Presentation for opening a new document.

Step 4: Then, Type something in the new document by clicking over “Click to add a title” and “Click to add a subtitle” as shown below.

Step 5: Select the text whose direction you want to change.

Step 6: Right-click on the selected text and select Format Shape from the context menu as shown below.

Step 7: On the right-side panel of Format Shape, Click Text Options on top and then select Textbox icon as shown below.

Step 8: After that under Text Box, Select the Text direction dropdown menu by clicking on it.

Step 9: Select Rotate all text 90° OR Rotate all text 270° OR Stacked from the dropdown list as shown in the below screenshot.
