Getting the “Result_Code_Missing_Data” message on your Chrome or Edge browser? Generally, when your browser is unable to process information on a webpage, or can’t display the webpage properly, this message shows up on the browser page. If you are also getting any such of error messages while trying to load specific webpages, you can follow these solutions to fix that issue.
NOTE – Users of both the Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge has reported this problem. We have explained the troubleshooting methods on Google Chrome. So, if you are having this problem on MS Edge, enact the same steps for that browser as well.
Fix 1 – Run the Chrome in compatibility mode
There seems to be a compatibility issue in the Google Chrome that is throwing up this error message.
Step 1 – At first, start searching for “chrome“.
Step 2 – Next, right-click the “Google Chrome” in there and tap “Open file location“.
Step 3 – You’ve to do this one more time. So, right-tap the “Google Chrome” application there and tap “Open file location” again to reach the actual installation location of Chrome.
Step 4 – Once you reach there, right-click the “chrome” and tap “Properties” to load up the Chrome properties.
Step 5 – Reach the “Compatibility” tab, next and turn on “Run this program in compatibility mode for:” and set it to “Windows 8” from the drop-down.
Step 6 – Save the changes in there.
After saving these changes, relaunch the Google Chrome. Test if this works.
Fix 2 – Reset the browser to default and retry
Resetting the browser to the default factory settings can help you resolve the issue.
Step 1 – On the Google Chrome, open up a new tab and paste this there and hit Enter.

Step 2 – Next, use the “Restore settings to their original defaults” option.
Step 3 – Thereafter, tap the “Reset settings” to reset the Chrome settings to default mode.
After resetting all the settings on Chrome, re-open the browser, and try to access the same website again. See if this works.
Fix 3 – Clear up the browser cache
Cleaning up the cache of the browser cache can solve the problem for you.
Step 1 – Paste this in the Chrome tab and hit Enter to load up the browsing data settings directly.
chrome://settings/clearBrowserData
Step 2 – Fix the ‘Time Range:‘ according to your preference.
Step 3 – Make sure these boxes are checked.
Browsing history Cookies and other site data Cached images and files
Step 4 – Then, tap the “Delete Data” option to delete all the browsing data from there.
After deleting the browser data, try to open the websites where you were experiencing the issue.
Fix 4 – Reinstall the browser
If you are having this problem for too many websites, you can uninstall the Google Chrome and reinstall the same.
Step 1 – Simply, type “google” in the search box.
Step 2 – Find “Google Chrome” in the search results. Then, right-click the “Google Chrome” and tap “Uninstall” to uninstall the browser from your device.
Step 3 – Visit the Google Chrome web page and get the installer.
Step 4 – Run the Google Chrome installer to re-install Google Chrome.
After installing the Google Chrome, you won’t get the same error code again.
Fix 5 – Disable web extensions
Sometimes, a single Chrome web extension can cause the browser to throw up the error message.
Step 1 – On your Chrome browser, tap the three-dot button there and, tap the “Extensions” button.
Step 2 – Then, click the “Manage extensions” option to load up the complete list of chrome extensions.
Step 3 – Disable all the third-party extensions there.
Once you have temporarily disabled the extensions, try to reach the website again. If you don’t come across the mentioned error code, there must be a problem with one of the extensions.
