While deleting some of the contacts from your iPhone, you may have stumbled upon this error message, “Not all contacts were Deleted” on your iPhone. This problem originates when you try to remove a contact from your iPhone that was not added through the standard method of contact addition. So, in that case, you have to implement specific solutions to take care of this.
Fix 1 – Delete the contact from the specific app
iPhone’s Contact app doesn’t have permission to delete the contacts that you have added from other apps, like WhatsApp or Messenger or any other application. Remove the same contact from within that app.
Step 1 – Open the WhatsApp on your iPhone. Go to the “Chats” page.
Step 2 – Tap the small ➕ button in the top to start a new chat.
Step 3 – In the New Chat page, scroll down and find the contact that you are trying to find. Or, you can use the search box to find that.
Step 4 – Open it up once you have found it.
Step 5 -When the chat box for that contact shows up, tap the contact banner.
Step 6 – After opening the contact settings, tap the “Edit” option.
Step 7 – There, you will find the “Delete Contact” option. Use that to remove the contact from your iPhone permanently.
This way, you can just remove the contacts from the WhatsApp.
Once you have removed the contact from there, you won’t get the same “Not all contacts were Deleted” message anymore.
NOTE – We have shown the way to delete the contact that you have added directly from WhatsApp. If the contact that you are trying to delete has been added through other apps, understand the process and delete the contact from there.
Fix 2 – Turn off the Show Contact Suggestions feature
If Siri is still showing you the contacts that you have deleted, disabling the ‘Show Contact Suggestions’ feature in the Contacts settings.
Step 1 – When you open iPhone’s Settings, go to the “Siri” settings.
[If you are using iOS 17, open the “Siri & Search” settings.]
Step 2 – Open up the “Apps” menu.
Step 3 – In the Siri settings page, find and open the “Contacts” menu.
Step 4 – In the Contacts settings tab, disable the “Show Contact Suggestions” option.
After disabling this setting, try to search for the same contact from Siri and test it out.
See whether you are still getting the error prompt or not.
