Unable to change Google map language in iPhone: Fix

Unable to change the language on your Google Map on your iPhone? A handful of users have noticed this problem with the Google Map app, where it seems that the Google Map app language is not changing. Fixing this problem won’t take much effort, and all you have to do is to tweak your iPhone’s settings a little bit.

 

Fix 1  – Change the Preferred language settings

Even if you change the Google Map settings on your iPhone, iOS can choose the preferred language settings and set it as the default language for the app.

Step 1 – So, go to your iPhone Settings.

Step 2 – Go to the “General” settings.

Step 3 – In that Settings page, open the “Language & Region” settings.

Step 4 – When the Language & Region page opens up, look at the ‘Preffered Languages’ pane.

There, look which language is currently set to. If it is some other language than the language that you want in the Google Maps app.

Step 5 – If that is the case, you must change it to the language that you want. So, use the “Add Language…” option.

Step 6 – Now, you can add the language from the list of languages available there.

Step 7 – You can use the search box to select the language as well.

Once you have selected the language, it will be set it as the default language for your iPhone. All the apps will use this language as the default language, including the Google Maps app.

Open the Google Maps app and see whether this has worked.

 

Fix 2 – Delete the Maps app

You must delete the Maps app from your iPhone. Later, reinstall the Maps app.

Step 1 – Either find the Apple Music app icon on your Home Screen.

Step 2 – Otherwise, swipe up quickly to open the search box.

Step 3 – Next, “Maps” in there. Later, hold on to that “Google Maps” app and “Delete App“.

Step 4 – Tap the “Delete” option to delete the Maps app from your iPhone.

Step 5 – Later, return to the App Store.

Step 6 – Search & install the Google Maps from there.

When you install Google Maps, it will follow the default language on your iPhone. So, this time, you won’t have to change the language of the Google Maps.
