Does the Mail message preview has disappeared from the Mail app on your iPhone? Mail message previews lets you go through the mails directly from the Home page of the Mail app. So, if you are just seeing the sender IDs or subject names, you have a problem in your hand that needs solving. So, without wasting any more time, follow these steps to restore the Mail message preview on your iPhone.

What are the Mail message previews and why it is important?

Whenever you open the Mail app, you see one or two-liners along with the Mail name directly on the home page of Mail app. This lets you an idea of what is the Mail is about, and you don’t have to go through all the mails one-by-one to read or categorize them. This is extremely helpful if you get too many mails.

Now, if this mail message preview is turned off in the Mail app, all the mails will just show up the mail message or the header name, nothing else. You have to go through the individual mails to known the context of the mails. So, you must follow these steps to enable the Message previews. The user can also tweak the number lines that shows up for each mail from the same preview page.

Step 4 – Now, you have to choose any of the options in the range of “1 line” to “5 lines” option. Choose this according to your preference. We recommend you set this to 2 or 3 lines.

2 lines min

This “1 line” option means that only a single line will appear in the preview with the email message, while the “5 lines” option suggests that 5 lines will show up under the mail header. Now, this selection has a catch. The more lines you preview, the more screen space it will take. This means that you can see less number of emails on the screen. If you get even 20–30 emails a day, you have to scroll more to read all of them. So, ideally you should choose a median point, like 2 or 3 lines option. This way, you will get the most optimized view of the emails there.

That’s it! Now, you will get the previews of email on the Mail app.
