Mail app not working on cellular data – Fix

Is the Mail app not working on cellular data? Whether you are on a Wi-Fi connection or mobile data, Mail app should work properly. There is no connection between the proper functionality of the Mail app and the network should work properly. These are the steps you need to follow to fix the issue.

Fix 1 – Turn on Cellular data in Mail app

The Mail app has this toggle for the Cellular data inside the app settings. You need to enable it to use the Mail app in mobile data.

Step 1 – To do this, quickly open up the Settings utility on your iPhone.

Step 2 – Next, slide down to find the “Apps” menu.

Step 3 – In the Apps page, you have to find the “Mail” app. You need to open this up.

Step 4 – After opening the Mail app, enable the “Cellular Data” mode in there.

Some users may not be seeing this option on their iPhones. In that case, follow the rest of the steps of the solution. In that case, follow these steps –

Step 1 – From the main Settings page on iPhone, load the “Mobile Data” option.

Step 2 Go down to find the ‘Mobile Data‘ section.

Step 3 – Tap the “Show All” option.

Step 4 – When you get access to the complete list of apps, open find the “Mail” app.

Step 5 Check whether the “Mail” app is enabled there.

This way, you can make sure the iPhone has no restriction on the Mail app utilizing the mobile data.

 

Fix 2 – Enable Push option

Fetching and transferring email data settings can be controlled from the Mail app.

Step 1 – So, open up the Settings and view the “Apps” page.

Step 2 – Open the “Mail” app once again.

Step 3 – Now, open up the “Mail Accounts” settings on the following page.

Step 4 – Next, you have to open up the “Fetch New Data” option, there.

Step 5 – When the email setting page loads up, toggle the “Push” option to On mode.

Step 6 – Next, set the ‘Fetch’ option to “Automatically” mode.

Once you have enabled this Automatic mode for the Email push settings, you won’t face any problem using Mail in mobile data again.

 

Fix 3 – Delete the mail account and add it again

The issue may reside with the mail account that you have in the Mail app. In that case, you should remove the mail account, and later, add that.

Step 1 – Open up the “Mail” settings once more.

Step 2 – In the Mail settings, go to the “Mail Accounts” page.

Step 3 – In that Mail Accounts page, tap the “Gmail” to load the account details.

Step 4 – Next, tap the “Delete Account” option to remove the account.

After deleting the account, come back to the same page.

Step 5 – In the Mail Accounts page, tap “Add Account“.

Follow the rest of the steps to set up the mail account.

Once you have set it up, test the Mail app in mobile data mode. See whether this works or not.
