There are many applications that are needed for our daily purpose on iPhone or any other smartphone, but there are no threats or security issues with most of the applications which are downloaded from the App Store.
However, there are certain apps like banking apps, some corporate official apps, storage apps, etc. which need to be secured from other users. Even if we add a passcode or FaceID which is quite secure but when our friends or other fellow colleagues use our iPhones casually, adding a lock to the selected applications would prove beneficial.
By default, Apple does not provide any predefined settings to lock or encrypt the application with a password or FaceID. So this is one of the biggest drawbacks of Apple devices.
How to Lock Individual Apps on iPhone

NOTE – For some emergency reasons by Apple, only the phone app cannot be locked with this method.
Step 1: Open the Settings page on your iPhone.
Step 2: Tap on the Screen Time option once.
Step 3: Scroll down and choose the Use Screen Time Passcode option by tapping on it once.

Step 10: Then it will ask you to provide your Apple ID for passcode recovery in the future.
Step 11: So enter the Apple ID and its password and tap on OK as shown in the below screenshot.

NOTE – Choosing the One More Minute option will allow the user to use the application for one minute only after that you will see only Enter Screen Time Passcode option when you try to open the application as shown below.
Step 15: After you have entered the correct Screen Time Passcode, you will get these options Approve for 15 minutes, Approve for an hour or Approve all day.
You can choose any of the options and continue using the application for that limit of time chosen.
