iPhone swipe up not working – How to fix

Can’t use the swipe up gesture on your iPhone? This swipe up gesture is crucial for the iPhone users. The main functionality of the iOS, Control Center can’t be accessed without this gesture. If you have found yourself in this situation and looking for a solution, you have come to the right place.

 

Fix 1 – Force restart the device

The Force-restart procedure can be very useful in this case. This process doesn’t affect any of the installed apps or stored data.

Step 1 – To do this, you must tap the Volume Plus key once.

Step 2 – Next, tap the Volume Down key and release it at once.

Step 3 Later, tap and hold the Power button. Do this until the iPhone screen turns complete black. This way, it will restart up automatically.

When the iPhone does restart, give the swipe up action another try. Unlock the device and try to use the Control Center.

 

Fix 2 – Turn off ‘Access within Apps’

If the ‘Access within Apps’ feature is disabled, you may not be able to access the Control Center within the apps.

Fix 3 – Allow access to Control Center

Having problem accessing the Control Center in the locked state? Then, you must rectify it from the Settings page.

Step 1 – Load the Settings window.

Step 2 – Open up the “FaceID & Passcode” panel.

Step 3 – Scroll down to ‘Allow Access when locked’ panel.

Step 4 – Make sure to enable the “Control Center” option.

While this is enabled, you can access the Control Center even from the lock screen.

NOTE – When the iPhone restarts, you can’t access the Control Center using the swipe down gesture. This is a security feature on the device and there is no straight workaround to this.

 

Fix 4 – Disable the Voice Control feature

If you have enabled the Voice Control features, the swipe up gesture may get restricted.

Step 1 – Go to the Settings panel.

Step 2 – Then, open up the “Accessibility” feature there.

Step 4 – If it is turned on, you must turn it off.

Fix 5 – Reset iPhone’s settings

If nothing so far has worked out for you, try resetting all the iPhone’s settings to default state.

The resetting process is simple and autonomous. So, do what is necessary, like verify your access and iPhone shall reset all the device settings to factory default.
