Is your iPhone Lagging? Try these fixes!

Many iPhone users have reported that their iPhones suddenly started lagging behind in performance and speed recently. Many suspect this might have happened after they upgraded their iPhone to the latest iOS 16.

It is disappointing to many iPhone users that this is making their work or browsing experience quite difficult. Do you know the reasons why your iPhone is getting slower and slower day by day? We have listed a few of them below.

  • Some software bugs/minor technical glitches within the iPhone
  • Outdated iPhone OS (In some cases)
  • Due to the location services feature being turned on
  • Virus attack on the iPhone
  • Low Power Mode being enabled
  • Lack of internet connection

On researching the factors mentioned above, we came up with some best possible solutions in this post that will help in resolving this problem easily.

Preliminary Fixes

Check your Internet connection

When iPhone users are not having a good stable internet connection on the iPhone, most apps installed on the iPhone might not work efficiently as expected. Therefore, it is really necessary to ensure that you have strong internet connectivity on your iPhone.

Firstly, you need to open the YouTube or Chrome app on your iPhone and try accessing a video or browsing some web pages to check the strength of your internet connection. If you are finding it difficult to load the video/webpages, the internet is weak on your iPhone.

We suggest trying to restart the Wi-Fi router and reconnecting the Wi-Fi signal on your iPhone. This refreshes the Wi-Fi signal and would get a strong internet connection on the iPhone. If not, switch the internet from Wi-Fi to Mobile Data by going to Settings > Mobile Data and tapping on the Mobile Data toggle button to enable it.

Update the iPhone

If your iPhone’s OS is out of date, this might also lead to a lagging problem. Therefore, we advise our iPhone users to update their devices from time to time in order to avoid such issues.

In order to update your iPhone, you have to open the Settings app on the iPhone and choose the General option. Next, you have to go to the Software Update option on the General page and wait for some time till it searches online for the updates and loads them. After you see any updates available, please download and install them on your iPhone to update it.

Restart your iPhone

To restart your iPhone, first, you need to go to Settings > General. Now scroll down the general page to the bottom and tap on Shut Down and move the slider to the right side to completely shut down the iPhone. Next, you have to press and hold your iPhone’s volume up and power buttons together until you see the Apple logo on the screen. This restarts your iPhone.

Reduce the Screen Brightness

When the screen brightness is too high, it might also affect the battery life which in turn causes the iPhone to lag behind in performance and speed. So try reducing the screen brightness accordingly and see if this improves the iPhone speed.

To do so, you need to launch the Control Centre on the iPhone by swiping down from the top right corner. After the control center screen appears, swipe the brightness slider up or down to adjust the brightness of your iPhone screen.
