When we are at home, usually we connect our iPhones to the Wi-Fi network and this makes it easier to use certain applications which need an internet connection. But when you are outside the Wi-Fi network, you cannot use those apps unless there is mobile data.
Many iPhone users have been facing this issue where some applications on their iPhones have stopped working since it is not connecting to their mobile data. This can be due to the mobile data pack, mobile data being disabled on the iPhone, minor internal technical faults, etc.
After considering all these factors that can be responsible, we have compiled some solutions below in the article which will definitely be going to help you efficiently.
Fix 1 – Allow Apps to access Mobile Data
Step 1: First of all, open the Settings app on your iPhone by clicking the settings icon from the home screen.
Step 2: Then click on the Mobile Data option.
Step 3: Scroll down and you will get to see a list of applications.
Step 4: Enable all the applications which need mobile data to run efficiently by clicking on its toggle button as shown in the below screenshot.
Step 5: This makes sure that those apps can access mobile data on your iPhone.
Fix 2 – Reset Network Settings
Step 1: To reset network settings, you have to open the Settings app on your iPhone.
Step 2: Then select the General option from the Settings menu as shown below.
Step 3: Now click on the Transfer or Reset iPhone option at the bottom of the General page as shown.
Step 4: After that, click on Reset at the bottom.
Step 5: This pops up a context menu window on the screen.
Step 6: Now click Reset Network Settings from the context menu as shown below.
Step 7: Before proceeding, it might ask for your iPhone passcode. Please enter your passcode.
Step 8: On successfully verifying the passcode, you have to click on Reset Network Settings again to confirm and to continue.
Step 9: This starts to reset the network settings on your iPhone.
Fix 3 – Enable Mobile Data Settings
Step 1: Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
Step 2: After the settings page appears, select the Mobile Data option from the settings menu as shown below.
Step 3: On the Mobile Data page, make sure you enable the Mobile Data by tapping on its toggle button at the top of the page as shown.
Fix 4 – Turn On the Data Roaming option
Sometimes, when you are out of the station and roaming, you might have to enable the Data Roaming setting in order to use the mobile data.
Step 1: Firstly, you have to launch the Settings page on your iPhone.
Step 2: Then select the Mobile Data option by clicking on it as shown below.
Step 3: Next, click on Mobile Data Options to continue.
Step 4: Here you have to enable the Data Roaming option by clicking on its toggle switch as shown in the below image.
Step 5: After it is done, check whether apps are using mobile data.
Additional Fixes
- Try restarting your iPhone once. If it has any internal software bugs or minor technical glitches, they will be rectified by restarting the iPhone.
- If you are not able to connect to the mobile data, please check whether you are able to browse any other YouTube or Chrome app for mobile network signal strength.
- Also, make sure your mobile data plan is not expired.
- Update your iPhone to its latest version of iOS.
