Are you getting continuously added into Snapchat against your will? Users on Snapchat can add other users or invite them over to start a conversation. Now, this can be extremely annoying if someone starts to add you on their Snapchat account. So, we have shown the way how you can stop random people from adding you on Snapchat.
How to stop random people from adding you on Snapchat
We are going to do this in two steps. At first, we will disable the ‘See my in Quick Add’ that does allow others to see your Snapchat account on their feed. Additionally, we will disallow others from viewing your number in the Snapchat.
Step 1 – Disable the Quick Add feature
Step 1 – Go to your Snapchat app.
Step 2 – Tap your account icon or Bitmoji to load up your profile information.
Step 3 – In the top-right corner, tap the “⚙” button to load the Snapchat account.
Step 4 – In the Snapchat settings, scroll down and visit the Privacy Control features.
Step 5 – Tap the “See Me in Quick Add” option.
Step 6 – Disable the “See Me in Quick Add” function there.
Other users on Snapchat won’t be seeing your Snapchat account or other information on other’s page.
Step 2 – Turn off the number sharing feature
You have to disable the number sharing feature from the Snapchat settings.
Step 1 – Open up the Snapchat app.
Step 2 – Next, tap the Bitmoji account to open it up.
Step 3 – Tap the ⚙ button.
Step 4 – On the Snapchat settings page, scroll down until you see your mobile number there. Tap the Snapchat number.
Step 5 – There, you will find the “Let others find me using my mobile number” toggle. This allows others to find you on Snapchat using your Snapchat number.
Step 6 – So, you must turn this off.
Once you have completed both the steps on your iPhone, no one can add your contact to Snapchat without your explicit permission.
Why Snapchat allows others to add you on Snapchat?
Snapchat wants others to connect with you. This is the reason the ‘Quick Add’ toggle is activated by default for all the Snapchat accounts. But, getting added by unknown senders continuously can be a harassment.
NOTE – No one can find you unless you send a request to connect to them, once you have followed the steps we have mentioned earlier. This includes anyone on your contact list. So, only you can connect to others and then they can converse with you.
In any case, if you want others to add you, just re-enable the ‘See me in Quick Add’ feature again in the Snapchat app settings.
