How To Stop Continuous Ringing Of Microsoft Teams Call

Microsoft Teams is widely used for communication and collaboration. It makes working together easy since it has different features like calls, chats, conducting meetings, etc. But sometimes when a user tries calling his colleague or gets a call, it keeps ringing, though the call is received or hung up. This issue mostly occurs when the call-forwarding feature is enabled, if the call is being forwarded to another number, or if there is an internet connectivity issue. Before jumping into solutions try to check if the internet connectivity that you are using is good and restart the computer. If this does not help do not worry in this article we have a few solutions that can be tried to get rid of the problem. Let us start!

Method 1 – Change The Teams Call Forwarding Settings

 

Step 1 – Open the Microsoft teams app and at the top right corner click on three dots beside your profile

Step 4 – On the right side, under call answering rules check if the call is being forwarded to any other number. That means it should not be like shown in the below image (The forward my calls option should not be enabled and in the forward to dropdown the option another number should not be mentioned)

Step 5 – If the call is being forwarded to any other number then disable the call-forwarding feature as shown in the method 3

Step 6 – Restart the computer and then check if the issue is resolved.

Method 2 – Sign Out From The Teams App And Sign In Again

 

Step 1 – Open Microsoft teams and click on your profile at the top right corner

Step 2 – From the appeared list click on sign out

Step 3 – Again sign in to the app. Now check if the issue is solved.

 

Method 3 – Disable Call Forwarding Feature

 

Step 1 – Open the Microsoft teams app and at the top right corner click on three dots beside your profile

Step 4 – On the right side, under call answering rules make sure to select calls ring me option by clicking on the radio button beside it

Step 5 – Also at the left side in the main teams app window , click on calls

Step 6 – Then click on don’t forward drop down that is at the bottom left corner then click on don’t forward option from the list

Step 6 – Now restart the Teams app and then check if you are still getting the continuous calls

 

Method 4 – Delete The Cache Files Related To Teams App

 

Step 1 – Open the run prompt using Windows + R keys together

Step 2 – Type the below command in the run prompt and hit enter

Step 3 – Select all the files present in this folder by using Ctrl + A keys together

Step 4 – Right click on the selected files and click on delete

Step 5 – Similarly navigate to the following paths and delete the files present in them

Method 5 – Check Microsoft Teams Volume In Windows Settings

 

Step 1 – Open Windows settings using Windows + I keys together

Step 4 – Under advanced sound options, click on app volume and device preferences

Step 5 – In the app volume section find Microsoft teams

Step 6 – The volume bars of Microsoft teams should not be greyed out. Move the sliders towards right side and adjust the volume.

 

Method 6 – Reinstall Microsoft Teams

 

Step 1 – Open the Windows settings using Windows + I keys together

Step 2 – Click on Apps

Step 3 – In the apps & features page, scroll down and find Microsoft teams

Step 4 – Select it and click on uninstall

Step 5 – A confirmation pop up will appear, again click on uninstall

Step 6 – Once the uninstallation process is finished then restart your system

Step 7 – Now to reinstall, go to Microsoft store app. To do this open the run prompt using Windows + R keys together

Step 8 – Type ms-windows-store: in the run prompt and hit enter

Step 9 – Type Microsoft teams in the search bar and hit enter

Step 10 – Click on get button to download and install the app

Step 11 – Once installed login with your username and password then check if the issue is been resolved.
