Hide Teams option is missing from Microsoft Teams – How to fix

Is the ‘Hide Teams’ option missing from your Microsoft Teams application page? The main purpose of this ‘Hide Teams’ feature is to hide the chat messages from the main message panel. Fix 1 – Hide all the channels in the Team

In the new Microsoft Teams update, show slash hide teams option is restricted to the channels of the particular teams only. So, if you want to hide a particular team from the Teams app screen, you must hide all the channels included in it.



Step 1 – To do this, right-click the channel of the particular team, and tap “Hide/Show” option to hide the channel from there.

Step 2 – Following the same method, you must hide all the subsequent channels from the same teams account.

Step 3 – When you have hidden all the channels under the same Teams account, the particular team will also be hidden from your team page.

This way, you can hide the team or the conversations from the team in Microsoft Teams.

 

Fix 2 – Restart the MS Teams

This problem can be happening briefly as well. So, we recommend you close the Teams app and relaunch the same.

Step 1 – At first, close the current instance of the Microsoft Teams application on your system.

Step 2 – Then, tap the icon on the taskbar to view all the hidden apps running on your system.

Fix 3 – Try this on Teams Desktop or web, vice versa

As the Microsoft Teams is available on a variety of platforms, you should consider using the teams app on other devices or on your browser to use this feature. Like, if you are having this issue on is desktop client, you can try the same on teams on web. On the other hand, try the desktop client if you are already having this problem on the Microsoft Teams on your web browser.

 

Fix 4 – Delete the team

if the particular team in question is not that important, you can just directly delete the team instead of hiding from the app interface.

Step 1 – Open up the Microsoft Teams app, if it is not opened yet.



Step 2 – Then, find the team that you want to delete. So, right-click the team on the MS Teams app and tap “Delete Team” to delete it.

Deleting a particular team from MS Teams is a one-sided process. This means that your shared resources, like calendars, media files won’t get deleted from the other side as well.
