How to set specific text tone for a contact on your Android phone

Want to add a distinguishing tone to a particular contact (conservation) on your phone? There is a neat way you can add a nice alert to the particular contact directly from the Messages app. In this article, we are going to show you how to set a particular tone to a specific contact of your choice, so that you can understand the return to the conversation immediately.

How to set specific text tone for a contact on your phone

You can set the specific notification alert for the conservation.

NOTE – This will work only if you use the Messages app by Google on your phone.

Step 1 – Open the Messages app.

Step 2 – Open the conversation that you want to set the tone.

This will open up the Notifications sound page on your phone.

Step 6 – Just select the notification tone from the list of available tones.

This way, you can select a particular sound for the contact you want. Whenever that contact messages you, this sound will be chimed.

That’s it! This 1-2 minute procedure can improve your Android experience.

NOTE – Though it seems to be one-time nice trick, there is a catch. It seems that whatever notification sound you opt for, Messages sets it for the conversation, not for the contact. So, if you delete that conversation completely, the notification sound settings goes with it! Even if you begin a new conversation with that contact, the notification sound will not be preset to that. So, you have to do this again on that contact.

Hope these have helped!
