The best thing about iPhones is the haptics on the phone. The feeling of those tiny vibrations tingling your fingers while typing a message can’t be experienced on any other device. So, if the click sound doesn’t work, or you don’t get that vibration from the keyboard in the iPhone, these fixes will be helpful.
Fix 1 – Adjust the Alert Slider
Toggle the Alert Slider to Ringer Mode from Silent Mode. The button you have on the left-hand side of your iPhone can silence the keyboard clicks on your phone.
Step 1 – Check the position of the Alert Slider on your phone. If the button is toggled downwards, the Silent Mode is activated.
You can’t get any click sounds while typing from the keyboard in this mode.
Step 2 – So, switch the position of the Alert Slider to upwards to set it to the Ringer Mode.
After this, you will get the click sounds in the keyboard once again. Just type in the Search bar or in the Messages page.
Fix 2 – Change the Keyboard sound
Possibly, the Haptic is disabled in the keyboard settings in the iPhone. So, enabling that Haptic should fix the problem.
Step 1 – You must go to the Settings.
Step 2 – Next, find the “Sounds & Haptics” option. Open it up.
Step 3 – Go to the ‘System Sound & Haptics’ panel. Open the “Keyboard Feedback” panel.
Step 4 – Inside there, you must enable the “Sound” and “Haptic” both the options.
Whenever you type something on your iPhone, it will give out the distinctive sound in the keyboard.
Check by typing a simple message in WhatsApp or Message app.
Fix 3 – Turn on the haptic feedback
Using a third-party keyboard app on your phone? You have to manually enable the haptic feedback from the third-party keyboard settings tab.
NOTE – We have discussed the steps for the Gboard application. If you are using another third-party keyboard, steps are almost similar.
Step 1 – Open the Gboard application on your phone.
Step 2 – Next, open the “Keyboard settings“.
Step 3 – In the Keyboard settings tab, find and enable the “Enable haptic feedback on key press” setting.
This will enable the haptics on the keyboard.
Just type some text or perform a search for an app or another item. Check if this works.
