How to Change the Orientation of a Single Page in a MS Word Document

Changing the orientation of a Word document is quite an easy task. You just got to click on the PAGE LAYOUT tab, click on the Orientation dropdown, and choose the orientation as per your choice. Obviously, this changes the orientation of the entire document. But what if you want to change the orientation of a single page? Let’s say you want to have page 1 and page 3 in portrait mode and page 2 in landscape mode? Sounds like a tough job? Well, we would like to differ!

Change the Orientation of a Single Page in Microsoft Word

Step 1: Firstly open the word document, of which you want to change the orientation of a single page.

As next, select any text on the page that you want to change the orientation of. In the example below, I want to change the orientation of the second page from portrait to landscape. So I have selected some text from page 2.

Now, from the panel of tabs, click on the tab named PAGE LAYOUT.

As next, we need to open the Page Setup window. For that, click on the small right arrow icon located right under the Hyphenation dropdown menu.

Step 2: On the Page Setup window, choose the orientation of your choice. Since I want to change the orientation of the page from portrait to landscape, I have selected the Orientation as Landscape.

Now, at the bottom part of the window, click on the dropdown list associated with Apply to and set Selected text from the options available.

Once you are all done, click on the OK button.

Step 3: There you go! If you now look at your Word document, you can see that only one single page is having landscape orientation, whereas the other pages are in portrait mode.
