While using any application or software on your system, the most appealing thing is the appearance that makes the users use it more often. The appearance can be enhanced by changing the layout, font size, background theme, etc. But usually, most of the applications nowadays allow users to change the background theme either dark or light or as per the computer’s theme.
The background theme also can be changed in the Discord application but the app only allows three options, dark, light and sync with the computer. But we are explaining in this post how the user can set the background theme they want in the Discord app.
How to Change Background Theme in Discord
Step 1: Open the Discord app on your system. To do so, press the Windows key and type discord.
Step 2: Then press the Enter key which opens the Discord app.
Step 3: Now at the bottom, you should click the User Settings icon which is gear-shaped.
Step 4: This will open the User Settings window in the app.
Step 5: Click the Appearance option under App settings as shown in the image below.
Step 6: On the right side of the Appearance page, you can change the Theme by selecting the theme options (Dark, Light or Sync with computer) by clicking any of the radio buttons as shown below.
Step 7: But here there is no option to set a custom theme downloaded from the internet that you want.

Step 9: First, all you need to do is download the Better Discord app from the link given here.
Step 10: Click the Download button as shown below.
Step 11: After it gets downloaded, click the downloaded file to start installing it on the system.
Step 12: Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process.
Step 13: After it gets installed, you will see that the Discord app automatically gets relaunched.
Step 14: Now you can start downloading the theme by browsing the theme page by clicking here.
Step 15: Once you are on the theme page, choose any theme that you want and click the Download button as shown below.
Step 16: This will start downloading the theme and is saved in the Downloads folder on your system.
Step 17: Now you need to copy all the themes from the downloads folder.
Step 18: Open the themes folder by pressing together the windows and R keys to open the Run box and typing the below line in the Run box and hitting Enter key.
C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\BetterDiscord\themes
Step 19: In this themes folder, please paste all the copied theme files from the Downloads folder.
Step 20: Now go back to the Discord app and click the User Settings icon like we did earlier.
Step 21: Here on the User Settings page, scroll down the left side menu and you will see the Better Discord section at the bottom.
Step 22: Select the Themes option under Better Discord.
Step 23: On the right side, you will see all the themes that you had copy-pasted into the theme folder appears here.
Step 24: You can now enable the theme by clicking on its toggle button to turn it On as shown below.
Step 25: As soon as it is turned on, you can now see the background theme on the Discord app gets changed.
Step 26: To close the User settings page, press the ESC key on your keyboard.
