Does all the images from your iPhone is uploading to the Google Photos? Google Photos have this feature where it starts to upload your media files images and videos to the cloud storage. But, the same feature can become the reason of headache for some users when the Google storage suffers from the lack of storage.

Why Google Photos automatic backup can become a problem?

Google offers 15 GB of basic storage for all Google account users. But, when your iPhone starts to upload all of your videos and images to the Google account, 15 GB of storage replenishes very quickly. The actual problem starts when you stop receiving even emails due to the lack of storage space on your Google account. You will be missing email messages, and you won’t even realize that.

So, in order to avoid this kind of extreme situations, you must be cautious and configure the Google Photos backup settings correctly. You can either put a stop on the Google Photos backup setting or, delete unnecessary images and videos from the account to clear up the room.

Fix – Modify the Google Photos settings

You have to take control of the Backup settings in the Google Photos app.

Step 1 – You have to open up the Google Photos app.

Step 2 – After opening up the Google Photos app, tap the Google account image in the top-left corner.

Step 3 – Scroll down and tap the “Google Photos Settings” option.

Step 4 – In that Settings page, tap the “Backup” settings.

Step 5 – Simply, turn off the “Backup” option.

This should put the plug on the automatic backup process in the Google Photos app. None of the images or videos will be uploaded to the Google Photos automatically. But, you can manually upload the videos or photos of your choice to store them in the Google Photos page.

NOTE – Google Photos showcases all of your snaps or videos in one place. You may continue to see your recent snaps and videos in the Google Photos. The items that are synced in the Google Photos, gets a synced cloud icon embossed on it. The items that are not synced won’t see the hologram on them.

Another way of saving space in the Google Photos is to delete the big size videos that you don’t want on the cloud. This way, you can save a lot of space in the cloud, that you can use to upload newer images or videos.
