Sometimes while starting any program you get an error that api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll is not found on your PC. Api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll is part of the Visual C++ Redistributable library. The reason behind this error is either that file is corrupted or missing in your PC. These are some methods by which you can fix this error.
Method 1 – Update Windows
Windows Update KB2999226 has inbuilt Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio. It will fix your corrupted dll file error. To update windows follow these steps.
STEP 1 – Press Windows and I at the same time, It will open Settings.
STEP 2 – Click on Update and Security.
STEP 3 – Click on Check for Updates, It will look for the update and start downloading the update.
STEP 4 – Reboot your PC when the update gets downloaded, it will install the update. Open the program you were getting an error and check that error is gone or not.
Method 2 – Download Visual C++ Redistributable from Microsoft website directly
If your windows is updated to the latest version and you are still getting dll missing error then you have to manually download the Visual Redistributable library from Microsoft website.
STEP 1 – Head to the download center website of Windows.
STEP 2 – Select your Language( English Here, you can select whatever you want).
STEP 3 – Choose your PC type from x64 and x86(x32) options, then click on Download.
If you are not sure about your system type, you can check it by checking properties of This PC.
STEP 4 – Click on Next and it starts downloading the file automatically.
STEP 5 – Open the downloaded file and start installing according to the instructions in the installation wizard.
Method 3 – Repair Visual C++ Redistributable
STEP 1 – Open Run box by pressing Windows and R together, type control on the text box and hit Enter. It will open the Control Panel window.
STEP 2 – Click on Program and features.
STEP 3 – Locate Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable in the programs list, select it by clicking on it and then click on Change button.
STEP 4 – Select Repair option.
STEP 5 – Click on Yes if you are prompted for admin access.
