Method 1: Edit Music Metadata Using Windows Explorer (File Explorer)
Step 1: Open File explorer using Windows + E keys together
Step 2: On the left side click on This PC
Step 3: Then go to the path where you have the music files saved
Step 4: Open the folder where music files are present
Note: Before editing the metadata, if the song is been played then close that particular app. Else you will not be able to edit
Step 5: Right click on the song which you want to edit
Step 6: From the appeared list click on properties
Step 7: In the opened window go to the details tab
Step 8: Double click on any field that you want to edit
Step 9: Update the data and click on apply and ok to save the changes
Alternatively, you can also follow the below steps to edit the data
Step 1: Open File explorer using Windows + E keys together
Step 2: On the right side click on This PC
Step 3: Then go to the path where you have the music files saved
Step 4: Open the folder where music files are present
Step 5: At the top click on view and then click on details pane
Step 6: Now select the song that you want to edit. On the right side, you will get the details of the song double click on the required field
Step 7: Edit the information and click on the save button to save the updated information. But this particular alternative step does not have more field when compared to the above one.
Method 2: Edit Music Metadata Using Windows Media Player
Step 1: Open the Windows Media Player
Step 2: Open the path where the music files are saved. To do this you can click on the file button
Step 3: In the appeared list click on open and then navigate to the music folder path
Step 4: Select the song that you want to edit the data for then right click on the required field
Step 5: Select edit option from the list and update the information. Once done, hit the enter button to save the information.
Method 3: Edit Music Metadata Using Groove Music Player
Step 1: Open the Groove Music Player. Microsoft has released Groove along with Windows. You can also use the app
Step 2: On the left side, click on My music
Step 3: On the top click on filter and select only on this device
Step 4: Right click on the song that you want to edit the info for and click on edit info from the appeared list
Step 5: Edit the required information like album title, artist, song title etc
Step 6: To see more options, enable show advanced options tab by clicking on the toggle bar
Step 7: If you do not have sufficient or appropriate information to edit the metadata then you can click on Find album info button. This will search the metadata online
Step 8: To save the updated changes, click on the save button
