While watching videos on YouTube, the comments posted by most users are always beneficial because of their real-time experiences. But we have seen several reports shared by YouTube users expressing their issues where they are not able to view the comments posted by others for any videos on YouTube.
This could be a serious problem if you are particularly looking for a comments section for your educational purposes. After analyzing the issue deeply, we have found many different reasons why it could have occurred.
- Technical faults with the YouTube app on mobile devices.
- Users have not signed in using their Google account.
- YouTube data got corrupted on mobiles.
- Outdated YouTube app.
- YouTube channel created by User has set video settings for kids.
- Comments settings are disabled by the users for their YouTube channel
In this post, we have elaborated on how you can easily fix this issue by following the methods below.
Fix 1 – Update the YouTube App
Step 1: Launch the App Store on your iPhone.
Step 2: Go to the Search bar at the bottom right end as shown below.
Step 3: Then type youtube at the top and select the YouTube page from the dropdown results as shown.
Step 4: Once it opens, check whether there comes an Update option.
Step 5: If there are no updates for the YouTube app, it will show Open.

Fix 2 – Turn Off the Restricted Mode option
Step 1: Open the YouTube app on your iPhone.
Step 2: After it opens, click on the Profile icon at the top right-end corner as shown below.
NOTE – Here you have to ensure that you have signed in using your Google account.
Step 3: Now select the Settings option from the list that appeared by tapping on it.
Step 4: From the Settings page list, click on General.
Step 5: Here, you need to make sure the Restricted Mode option is turned off to grey by clicking on its toggle switch.
Fix 3 – Offload YouTube App on iPhone
Step 1: Open the Settings app by clicking on the settings icon.
Step 2: Click on the General option as shown in the below screenshot.
Step 3: Scroll down and click on iPhone Storage.
Step 4: Let it load the iPhone storage data on your iPhone.
Step 5: Then look for the YouTube app from the list and click on it.
Step 6: Now tap on the Offload App option.
Step 7: After that, a pop-up appears on your iPhone screen.
Step 8: Click Offload App to continue.
Step 9: Once done, click Reinstall App to start reinstalling again.
Fix 4 – Do Not Set your YouTube Channel for Kids
Step 1: Open a browser app like Chrome on your system.
Step 2: Go to the web address of YouTube by typing the below link in the address bar.

Step 3: If you have not logged in, please log in.
Step 4: Afterwards, go to the Profile Pic at the top right side and click on YouTube Studio from the list.
Step 5: Then click on the Settings option.
Step 6: There pops up a settings menu.
Step 7: Now select the Channel tab on the left side and click Advanced Settings.
Step 8: You have to select No, set this channel as not made for kids. I never upload content that’s made for kids.
Change the Defaults Comments Settings for your YouTube channel
Step 1: Once done, click on Upload Defaults on the left side and select the Advanced Settings option on the right side.
Step 2: Now scroll down to the bottom and click on Allow all comments.
Step 3: At last, click Save at the bottom of the window as shown in the below screenshot.
Fix 5 – Re-Install YouTube App on iPhone
Step 1: On the home screen, long tap on the YouTube app and select the Remove App option from the context menu.
Step 2: Now click Delete App from the pop-up menu.
Step 3: Confirm this by tapping on Delete again on your screen.
Step 4: This starts deleting the YouTube app from your iPhone.
Step 5: Afterwards, you have to reinstall the YouTube app from the App Store.
Fix 6 – Enable Background App Refresh for YouTube app on iPhone
Step 1: Click on the settings icon on your iPhone.
Step 2: Scroll down the list to the bottom and tap on YouTube.
Step 3: Now click on Background App Refresh’s toggle button to turn it On as shown in the below screenshot.
