Facing some problem changing the watch faces on your Apple Watch? Your Apple Watch has this facility to alter the watch face directly from the watch face screen. While there is the direct method for setting a different watch face, the sideswipe feature is well known among the users for it’s ease of use. This guide contains a detailed explanation of the only steps that you need to perform to enjoy this feature on the device.
Why I can’t switch watch faces on Apple Watch?
The hold and sideswipe gesture is extremely useful for the users who love to switch between various watch faces. Just a swipe sideways to load different watch faces. But, this otherwise simple feature won’t work on your watch if it is disabled.
Sometimes, the feature won’t function if a bug or glitch in the OS has caused the problem. In that case, you must take appropriate measurements to fix the problem.
Fix 1 – Turn on Swipe to Switch Watch Face
The feature that is responsible for the sideswipe feature of the watch face is present in the Apple Watch settings console.
Step 1 – Hit the crown button on the watch.
Step 2 – Next, when this loads up the list of apps, tap the “⚙” icon there.
Step 3 – On the Settings page, open up the “Clock” settings.
Step 4 – In the Clock settings, turn on the “Swipe to Switch Watch Face” feature.
After turning on this feature, return to the watch face by pressing the crown button once.
Test this out. You can just swipe sideways to change the watch faces.
Fix 2 – Reboot your iPhone, Watch
If you still can’t swipe to get different watch faces, you should try the force-restart method.
Step 1 – All you have to do is to hold the side button and digital crown on your Apple Watch.
Step 2 – If you just hold those buttons for 10 seconds or so, the Apple Logo will show up on your screen.
Wait until the reboot process completes. Then, you can just swipe to see different watch faces on the wearable.
Fix 3 – Reset the sync data
If there is some problem in the synchronized data on the watch, swiping across the watch surface gesture won’t work.
Step 1 – Open the “Watch” settings on your iPhone.
Step 2 – Next, go to the “My Watch” panel.
Step 3 – Later, tap the “General” part of the settings.
Step 4 – Scroll to the bottom of the “Reset” option.
Step 5 – On the following page, tap the “Reset Sync Data” option to reset the synchronized data.
After you have reset the synchronized data, you can expect the sideswipe function to work normally.
