Your iPhone is not configured to allow phone calls using this iPad: Fix

The Apple ecosystem provides a seamless experience to its users, where you can easily receive your iPhone calls directly on your iPad. But, what if you see this message “iPhone Calls Not Available” while trying to take up the call? Don’t worry. This is just a problem with the iPad’s settings, and tweaking that should take care of the issue.

Fix 1 – Allow Calls on other devices

You must change the feature that allows your calls on other Apple devices.

Step 1 – You can do this from your iPhone. Just find and top the ⚙ button to access it.

This is the setting that is responsible for the calls appearing on your other iOS devices.

Step 5 – So, you must turn on the “Calls on Other Devices” option.

Step 6 – Enable your device in the ‘Allow Calls On’ list.

Once you have enabled this feature, you can receive the phone calls directly on the iPad or any other iOS devices.

But, while enabling the option, a handful of users may experience this message as well –

FaceTime and iCloud must be signed in to the same Apple ID to enable Calls on Other Devices.

If that is the case, follow the steps of the next solution.

Fix 2 – Use the same Apple ID

The Apple Ecosystem feature works through the iCloud network. So, you must be using the same Apple ID on both of your iPhone and iPad.

Step 1 – So, go to the iPhone Settings, one more time.

Step 2 – Take a look at the name banner there. Now, go to the iPad or Mac settings page. You must see the identical name banners (this is your Apple ID) in both of the devices.

Step 3 – But, if you see a different name banner in any of the devices, you are using two different Apple IDs.

So, you must change the Apple ID of one device so that you can have the same Apple ID on both of the devices.

Step 4 – After going to the Apple ID page, scroll down and tap the “Sign out” option.

Step 5 – Later, use the same the “Sign out” option there to sign out from the Apple ID.

There are a few steps there for you to complete so that you can remove the current Apple ID.

When you are done with the process, return to the iPhone Settings page.

Step 6 – This time, you will see the “Sign in using your Apple ID” instead of your regular Apple ID banner. Tap that to open it up.

Step 7 – Now, use the same Apple ID that you have on your MacBook or iPad.

Step 8 – Follow the process, input your Apple ID credentials there and complete the log-in process.

Step 9 – when you are logged into both of the Apple device using the same Apple ID, go this way on your Settings page –

Phone > Calls on Other Devices

Step 10 – Simply turn on the settings.

You will start to receive the calls on your iPads or MacBooks once again.

Do call up your number and see whether you are getting the same call notification, and you are able to interact with the call.

Fix 3 – Use the Apple ID for FaceTime

If this solution doesn’t work, you must use the Apple ID for FaceTime feature to fix the issue.

Step 1 – You must open up your iPhone Settings.

Step 2 – Scroll all the way down to the “Apps” tab.

Step 3 – Open the “FaceTime” settings.

Step 4 – When the FaceTime settings loads up, tap the “Use your Apple ID for FaceTime” settings.

Step 5 – Tap “Sign in” to sign in using the existing Apple ID on the device. Otherwise, you can make use of the “Use other Apple ID” option as well.

Doing this should do the trick and solve the issue. You will get the calls directly on the calls on your iPad.
