Themes are the reason why the Windows system’s appearance is so appealing and cheerful. Themes are nothing but collections of different background images, colours, and sounds dedicated to a particular thing on the Windows system. Some themes are light and some dark depending on the preference of users.

Nowadays, a few Windows users started getting an error message on their Windows system randomly. The error message that appears on the screen is displayed below.

Windows can’t find one of the files in this theme.

Do you still want to save the theme?

The reasons for the possibility of causing this error message on any Windows device are listed below.

  • Problem with the currently active theme.
  • Theme syncing is enabled.
  • Corrupted System data files.
  • The background image which was set got corrupted.

On analyzing these factors mentioned above, we went through a lot of stuff and gathered information on them. In this article, we have come up with a bunch of solutions which will resolve this issue and won’t bother users with these types of error messages randomly.

Fix 1 – Disable the Sync settings on the Windows system

The executable file which is responsible for syncing the theme settings to the Windows system is SettingSyncHost.exe. When this file fails to sync the theme changes to your Microsoft account from the Windows device, this error message is thrown on the screen.

Therefore, we can try disabling the sync settings using the steps explained below.

Step 1: Press the Windows + I keys together on the keyboard to open the Settings app on the system.

Step 2: After the Settings app window opens, click Accounts on the left side menu.

Step 3: Scroll down the Accounts page on the right side and select Windows backup.
