Method 1: Reset The WhatsApp Desktop App To Its Default Settings

Step 1: If the WhatsApp version is outdated then update it. To update the WhatsApp open the Microsoft Store

Step 3: At the top right click on get updates
Step 4: If there are any updates for WhatsApp it will get updated. Once done then check if the issue is solved.
Method 4: Reinstall The WhatsApp Application
Step 1: Open the windows settings using Windows + I keys together
Step 2: Click on Apps
Step 3: In the apps & features page scroll download find WhatsApp
Step 4: Select it and click on uninstall button
Step 5: After uninstalling the app, now install the app freshly
Step 6: To re-install the WhatsApp go to its website and select Windows platform and click on download
Step 7: Install and setup the WhatsApp. Now check if the issue is solved.
Method 5: Check The Network Connection And Use The Same Wi-Fi Network
Step 1: Go to the speed test website
Step 2: Press the Go symbol. This will check the speed of the internet
Step 3: If your internet speed is slow then the WhatsApp Desktop app or other apps may not work as expected. Try to reboot your modem or network equipment then check if the issue is resolved
Step 4: Also use the same network over the phone and computer then check if all works fine.
Method 6: Check WhatsApp Web Server Status
Check the WhatsApp server status on the web. If the server is down then it you cannot do any fixes from your end. Instead wait for the server to be up and running. Once it is up then check if the WhatsApp desktop app is working fine
Method 7: Check For Windows Updates
Step 1: Open the windows settings using Windows +I keys together
Step 2: Click on update & security
Step 3: In the windows update page click on check for updates button. If there are any updates it will be installed.
Method 8: Run The Troubleshooter
Step 1: Open the windows settings using Windows + I keys together
Step 2: Click on update & security
Step 3: On the left, click on troubleshoot
Step 4: At the right side, click on additional troubleshooters
Step 5: Select the internet connections
Step 6: And click on run the troubleshooter button
Step 7: It will start to detect if there is any problem. Click on troubleshoot my connection to the internet
Step 8: If there are any issues regarding the internet it will detect and suggest the fix. Apply the fix and check if the issue is solved.
Method 9: Run WhatsApp In Compatibility Mode
Step 1: Go to the WhatsApp folder path where it is been installed.
Step 2: Open the WhatsApp folder and find its executable file. Right click on it and select properties
Step 3: Go to the compatibility tab
Step 4: Tick the checkbox beside Run this program in compatible mode for. Then from the dropdown select windows 8
Step 5: To save the changes click on Apply and Ok. Now check if the issue is solved.
