Having trouble with the WhatsApp microphone on your iPhone? The Microphone is essential while you are on a voice/video call on WhatsApp. There must be something wrong in the microphone settings on your iPhone that has caused this problem. We have to address this issue with the following solutions. Go through them and you can get the quickest resolution.
Fix 1- Check the microphone permission
The microphone permission is the key thing in this problem. If the permission is not provided properly, you will have problems with the microphone on WhatsApp.
Step 1 – You have to load up the Settings on your iPhone.
Step 2 – Next, you must open up the “Privacy & Security” settings.
Step 3 – In the Privacy & Features page, locate the “Microphone” setting and load it up by touching it once.
Step 4 – Find the “WhatsApp” toggle and make sure to enable it there.
After enabling the WhatsApp microphone permission, you can use the WhatsApp again. Check if this works out.
Fix 2 – Enable Microphone permission for WhatsApp
You can manage the WhatsApp permission directly from the WhatsApp settings on your iPhone.
Step 1 – You must open up the Settings page.
Step 2 – Later, go to the “Apps” page while scrolling down.
Step 3 – While the Apps page appears, find the “WhatsApp” app. You must open it up.
Step 4 – Now, you must give consent to the “Microphone” permission in the WhatsApp settings.
Once it is enabled, you can use the WhatsApp normally again. Try to record a demo voice note and check.
Fix 3 – Revoke all the content restrictions
For many iPhone users, the content restriction seems to be the reason for this failure. So, you must revoke the content restrictions.
Step 1 – Go to the Settings page and, later, open up the “Screen Time” settings.
Step 2 – In the Screen Time settings, open the “Content & Privacy Restrictions” option.
Step 3 – You can just disable the “Content & Privacy Restrictions” module completely.
Return to your WhatsApp and check whether the microphone is working or not.
Step 4 – Now, what if you don’t want to turn off “Content & Privacy Restrictions” features? If that is the case, you can open the “Microphone” settings in the same ‘Content & Privacy Restrictions’ page.
Step 5 – In the Microphone settings, you can find the “WhatsApp” toggle. Make sure to turn it on.
If you have followed the aforementioned steps, you won’t face any problem using the microphone on WhatsApp.
Fix 5 – Reset all the iPhone Settings
If you still can’t record your voice notes or use the microphone at all, resetting all the iPhone Settings should be useful.
Step 1 – Quickly go to the iPhone Settings.
Step 2 – Then, tap these options one after the other –
General > Transfer or reset iPhone
Step 3 – You have to use the “Reset” function.
Step 4 – Choose the “Reset All Settings” option.
iPhone just won’t allow you to reset all the user settings. You must use the Apple Passkey to confirm your approval on the process.
Step 5 – Tap “Reset settings” to reset all the iPhone Settings.
Once you have reset all the settings and customizations that you have made, the device will restart on its own. After the device restarts, go back to the WhatsApp and see whether the microphone is working or not.
